Daughters and dads are the ultimate bond, and that of Lane Kiffin and his daughter Landry is proof. The Ole Miss coach is known to be a family man through and through. But the downside—or maybe an upside—of having a great dad-daughter bond is that fathers never miss a chance to embarrass their daughters. Neither do they shy away from declaring how dear their girls are to them. Kiffin did have some bumps along that road, but he’s in a good place right now.
Kiffin had parted ways with his wife, Layla, in 2016, which was a difficult time for him. He has reconciled with Layla, and his kids are all grown up and ready to build their own lives. On 16 March, Kiffin shared an emotional post on Instagram dedicated to Landry. The post is Kiffin’s apology note for “creating [her] before [his] life was put together.” “I’m sorry you’ve seen me broken. But thank you for growing up with me and showing me how to love unconditionally. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be who I am today,” the post also read.

The Ole Miss HC is extremely close to his daughter, who makes appearances at his games to show support. Now that his family life is better, the two don’t hesitate to let it show on social media as well. During Kiffin’s stellar 10-3 season in 2024, a fan had placed a bet against him ahead of the Gator Bowl match.

If the Rebels lost against the Dukes, the fan would be able to take Landry out to Chili’s. Ever the doting father and a troll, Kiffin replied, “She isn’t a Chili’s girl.” When the fan offered another discussion involving him and the transfer portal as an alternative, Landry joined in, too. “He’s not a beer guy,” she wrote. That’s a baller move from both of them; that shows how great their relationship is.
Lane Kiffin often features in Landry Kiffin’s TikToks, and they’re all a testament to the fun relationship they share. He was also offered a spot on Auburn’s staff in 2023 but stayed because of his family, especially with Lane being at the University of Mississippi. Through thick and thin, this father-daughter duo seems to know where their heart lies. But Kiffin has also one-upped his daughter on social media because that’s what loving dads do to show their adoration for their children.

Apparently, Landry got excited after reading her father’s offer. Then, she realized that she’d read ‘bracket’ as ‘bracelet.’ Kiffin, ever the doting father, decided to pull her leg and shared a screenshot of their hilarious conversation on X. He wrote, “When you ask your daughter to fill out a bracket.” It’s just a dad thing; once they find something deliciously embarrassing about their kids, the world has to know. It’s one thing to do it in front of a gathering, but it is another thing to do it online.
