Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is shooting up NFL draft boards. Austin Simmons gets a wild-card entry to showcase his skill under the center as a de facto starter. But wait, Lane Kiffin has flirted with the portal chances as well. Kiffin has had an elite reputation for taking a real and honest approach while swooping players from the portal. Now, it seems he is weighing in on his skill over the standout Ferris State Quarterback with a groundbreaking stat.

We are zooming into the name, Trinidad Chambliss, who just announced to hit the portal after spending an eventful junior year with the Bulldogs. In 2023, he had a sporadic season, appearing only in eight games, but once he takes up the charge to lead Ferris State to their dynasty status in 2024, it’s a different story. He stepped up as a starter and never looked back….Started for 15 games and stopped after earning them the much-anticipated national championship. He racked up a total of 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns in the breakout season (in 2024). But now, it’s time to shake up and shine brighter. Division I is calling!

Guess who sneaked his way toward the powerhouse! Yes, Lane Kiffin and the Rebels’ staff. Pete Nakos of ON3 revealed that Ole Miss is in a good spot to land the Grand Rapids native. The Rebels turned heads in one of the top available quarterbacks’ transfer portal choices, multiple sources told On3.. Chambliss has been in active communication with the Rebels, and a visit to Oxford might be the next step to their potential marriage.
Sources cautioned that Ole Miss and Chambliss also signed a deal.

Although the nature of the deal is unknown, Kiffin and the Rebels are pursuing the right path to solve their major Jaxson Dart void.

But if the Chambliss formula works out, it would mean another year of waiting for Simmons, who left his big alternative career in the bus to be loyal to the gridiron and the Rebels.

He got his first college degree at 17 years old. He can throw a baseball 96 miles per hour, and you need to hear a story.” This sophomore at True North Classic Academy scored an awe-inspiring .375 batting average in his first 14 games, driving in 11 runs and stealing 7 bases.

Since his very childhood, Simmons kept moving between his two sports while continuing his home-based schoolwork simultaneously. For a kid, managing heavy multitasking is really daunting. But when you have a raw passion for the games flowing through you, it can make the impossible possible to some extent. Eventually, when the Ole Miss QB grew up, he had to abandon one sport to make the best out of another. Fortunately, he chose football, and the rest is history. Simmons also turned down a massive $4.5 million NIL offer from SEC powerhouse Georgia to stay loyal to Kiffin.
