Did Lane Kiffin's Rebels choke under pressure, or was it just a bad day at the office?

What in the world just happened? Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin quickly became the IT factor when they ended the game against the Bulldogs. These guys had one of their best defensive showcases against a monster like the Dawgs. Georgia was NOT allowed to cross past the 10-point mark and Lane Kiffin and his boys had all the control over the offense and the play-making. This changed the entire scene over there at Oxford and then going up against the Gators back down at the swamp, people know that Kiffin had this. And he did not have this. Billy Napier and Co. somehow managed to overthrow the No.9 team on the CFP list and no one could believe it.

Was it just a bad game, or is Ole Miss going to miss out on the playoffs because of being jinxed? Well, Lane Kiffin thinks it’s the latter one. During the post-game conference, Kiffin mentioned, “Somebody jinxed this week.” See, the entire offense was a mess going into this game. While the Rebels did have an advantage over total yards with 464 collected, the conversion needed to change the game was completely missing.

Jaxson Dart was all over the place. He did get in 2 touchdowns and over 300 yards but only completed around 24 passes out of 41 attempts. If that wasn’t bad enough, he made a last-minute blunder with an interception when he threw the football directly to the Gators’ defense.

In a game like this, you have to make your plays based on what the D-line is doing and Dart did the exact opposite. If he had focused on the right side of the field, it would’ve been an easy touchdown for Ole Miss.

But coming to the final point, the Rebels are off the playoffs with this one. With 3 losses to their names and only the MS State game left on the schedule, there is no way they are cracking it in and even if they do, it has to come at the cost of some other Big 10 team losing. Finally, we gotta talk about Napier, man.

Billy Napier is on a roll

When Florida announced that they were sticking with Napier going into the 2025 season, people had their doubts. What has Napier done other than gifting the fans 5 massive losses and a QB who is now out with a season-ending injury?

What’s your perspective on:

Did Lane Kiffin's Rebels choke under pressure, or was it just a bad day at the office?

Have an interesting take?

Well, with the win over LSU and Ole Miss, it looks like Florida made the right choice. See, what Napier needed was some new flair on the offense, and that came from DJ Lagway. It’s kind of wild that this dude didn’t get more playtime in the season because if he had? The Florida could easily be up 8-3 or something on the schedule.

Lagway has managed to switch up the Gators’ offensive depth drastically. Brought in 2 touchdowns with 180 yards under his belt. While Ole Miss had more possession on the field, it was Lagway’s throws and the Florida defense standing tall to make turnovers. This season is getting more wild as it nears the end.
