A must-needed bye week! With three consecutive decisive victories over Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Georgia before their bye week, as well as a hilarious allusion to Morgan Wallen’s “Adrenaline and Painkillers” that summed up his thoughts on the bye, Lane Kiffin is grabbing waves for the correct reasons. “Sounded like a Morgan Wallen song right there: ‘Adrenaline and Painkillers’,” said the head coach of Ole Miss. After a historic victory over Georgia, the No. 11 football team is in the CFB playoff picture; yet, with two SEC games remaining, Kiffin and Co. still have business to do. However, the coach and his children appear sentimental on the first day of bye week, despite all the labor and tension.
Lane Kiffin posted on his X account on November 15th, captioning it, “Day 1 @OleMissFB.” The head coach relived his first-day experiences with his son Knox and daughter Presley as per the post. The head coach seems to finally have time to spend with his kids after a lengthy and busy schedule. Furthermore, time seems to pass quickly. When Kiffin first joined Ole Miss on December 8, 2019, his kids were quite young, but based on the photo in his post, they are now grownups.

However, Kiffin’s Ole Miss bye week is about preparation and mending rather than just unwinding and reminiscing. The Rebels have two crucial games to play in the Egg Bowl six days later and at Florida on Saturday. Before the last stretch, Kiffin and his team are taking advantage of the bye week to recuperate and tidy up any issues. “A lot to work on this week, health-wise, but also schematically to continue to improve. You guys asked about the Playoffs. We’ve been in the playoffs for three games now, so we have to continue to improve to stay alive for that. A lot of stuff to work on.” Kiffin stated.
Speaking on the significance of the Rebels’ bye week, the coach added, “I do, and normally I don’t like them when you’re in a rhythm winning with two dominant wins like that, but because of health.” It seems that the Ole Miss will change before traveling to Gainesville after recovering from injuries. Let’s see how difficult or easy their fight against Florida can be.
What’s next for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss?

When Scott Stricklin announced that Florida would continue to use Billy Napier for the 2025 season, he was able to electrify the internet. This was huge news since, based on Napier’s entire performance as a head coach, it is a complete failure. The former national champions dropped both of their starting quarterbacks and are currently 4-5. DJ Lagway had an injury to his hamstring during the Bulldogs game, and Graham Mertz is sidelined with an ACL. That is why Napier was forced to use his walk-on quarterback, Aiden Warner, against Texas, and the squad failed to perform well as a result. However, Texas dominated them with a 49-point game, while they only managed to score 17 points.
Here’s the problem, though. Kiffin might face difficulties if Lagway miraculously returns. You see, this guy easily held his own against Georgia. The fighting Bulls only scored six points through two field goals during the first half because it was so good. The dynasty fell apart the instant Lagway was removed. As of right now, there is no information on Lagway returning, thus Kiffin shouldn’t have any trouble. In CFB, however, anything may happen. So, be prepared.
