Why is Bryson Daily still trailing in the Heisman race despite his record-breaking performances?

There’s a new Heisman Trophy contender! The further we go into the season, the more we see new faces rising to surpass the national players. The Heisman race has been in hype all season as each week’s performance determines the players’ odds. After Week 8, the world tunes into Army’s QB who turned heads in their last 45-28 victory over ECU.

Army has a hidden gem in Bryson Daily who recently came to the surface after his outstanding play in their victory over East Carolina. He even landed himself on Kirk Herbstreit’s list of the top-performing players of Week 8. As posted on his Instagram on October 22, Bryson Daily stole the No. 5 spot in the coveted list which is topped by Missouri’s Brady Cook.

Daily is also the only QB in the nation to lead with 19 rushing TDs. He also has seven passing TDs. He secured an overall record of 909 rushing yards and 629 passing yards this season as well as the No. 1 rated QB by PFF. Under his leadership, the Army remains undefeated through seven games and ranks No. 23 in the AP Poll. With these records, it’s not surprising why he’s entered the Heisman race.

Bryson Daily enters the Heisman race

On Monday, Bryson Daily became the first player to win the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week three times in a row. He was named the AP National Player of the Week, which propelled his Heisman odds. Right now, Daily’s Heisman odds stand at +7500The hard thing to digest for Army fans is that Daily still falls way behind in the Heisman race despite fairly poor plays by fellow QBs such as Jalen Milroe and Carson Beck.
