The footballing world is always filled with moments that show great vigor, rivalries, and war of words between fans. Hell, it’s not even easy for football fans of two rival teams to sit at a single stand together, let alone talk of things that drive both of them together. However, ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit has lately given several moments through his personal life, which has kept all the football fans hooked on a single agenda.

Well, we’re talking about his three furry little friends, Peter, Theo, and Mitch. These three dogs have always been the center of attention in matchups when they usually go with Kirk to give those adorable moments. We could always see them wagging their tails with joy and wowing the crowd-filled stadium in a single unison ‘Awww.’ That’s the level of pull these three little guys have. And with that note, it looks like there’s another peek into their lives that will just make your day.

Posting a video on his Instagram account, Kirk Herbstreit’s account, the three dogs just came back from the daily morning tour. And all of them look very adorable. Standing on the back of Kirk’s truck, their heads leaning down in some adorable fashion and their eyes just wanting a good cuddle from him. As Kirk calls for Theo and says, “Hi Theo,” he just leans his head away from the camera and starts to wag his tail in a very endearing fashion. The three cuddly friends surely provided the moments of ‘aww’ for the ESPN broadcaster when he came back from his long, tiring game days. However, the passing of his eldest dog, Ben, surely has created a void, and Kirk opened up about the struggle.

Kirk Herbstreit told in an interview how hard it was to cope with the loss of Ben and how a void had been created after his passing. “That’s been overwhelming, honestly. I mean, it started with Ben, as you know, and that was tough. That really came on pretty quickly, and I just decided I had three other goals. I decided to bring my youngest here. This is Peter; he’s 16 months and took him out once to LSU-Alabama in Baton Rouge. I figured if he could make it to that one, he could do anything, and he did really well, and I had no plan… He’s a great companion, and it’s been great on the backend of what we dealt with, Ben”.

Well, Kirk lost his oldest dog, Ben, recently after a prolonged battle with cancer. The passing has certainly not been easy on Kirk; still, he can take solace from the fan following and love Ben got throughout his living days. For example, in that LSU and Aggies game that Kirk was talking about, Ben was there standing and roaming around in the commentary box amidst a crowd of 108,852. Penn State even gave Ben a gift basket that included a bed, toys, and treats with a heartfelt note, “Very Important Pup.” Surely, Ben was a celebrity in himself and will always live long in the memory of every fan. But now, it seems Kirk has three new furry companions, and they have become celebrities in their own right.

Mitch, Theo, and Peter garnering a fan following of their own?

After Ben passed, the loss was felt not only by Kirk but also by the fans, who always got to see him at Gamedays and even in Kirk’s “Thursday Night Football” broadcasts. The Cleveland Browns even shared a tribute after Ben’s passing and gave a care basket with a painting of Kirk and Ben together to Kirk with dog treats (for his other dogs) with the message, “Chief Happiness Officer.”. But don’t think that Theo, Mitch, and Peter haven’t got a fan following of their own.

Reacting to the video posted by Kirk, one user wrote about the dogs, “Those sweet faces! They are so tired,” while another wrote, “Love when I see these guys in the truck tooling down the road. Always makes me smile.” Naturally, Kirk always shares adorable videos of his dogs, and fans can’t stop swooning over the dogs every time he posts. Another user has a quite hilarious take on the three-pawed social media celebrities.

He wrote, “Mitch looks like he’s running a board meeting, Theo looks like he’s the guy you meet who totally loves his job. and Peter is just totally judging you!“. Well, to be honest, they kinda feel like three corporate pups who are tired after a coffee break. Another user advised Kirk to take Peter to game days more often. “@kirkherbstreit we miss you and the fellas so much on College Game Day!! Saturday mornings suck without you and Peter too”. Well, naturally, the off-season is here, and we won’t see Theo, Peter, or Mitch until the season starts. That’s a lot of time without these adorable pups, don’t you think?
