Let’s be honest here: out of all the SEC teams we’ve seen so far, Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs are probably the only ones who have managed to turn things around for themselves. After that massive loss to Ole Miss and the entire Dawgs’ reputation getting dragged through the mud with a mere 10-point game, Kirby Smart and Co. did their best and avenged their reputation against the Vols. From there, the boys went on for a massive 59-pointer game against UMass. See, it doesn’t matter how many times you, me, or anyone out there calls out the Bulldogs for being mid or Carson Beck being washed up.

What Smart has achieved with a schedule like that? Not many can do it, so he, out of all the people, definitely gets all the flexing rights. Back on X, Jordan D. Hill shared what Smart had to say about Georgia and the SEC misery that has plagued teams like Bama and Ole Miss. “We’re on a tight schedule trying to turn this around quickly with today really being like Tuesday… I don’t think it’s changed. It’s hard. It’s hard to play on the road in the SEC … It’s not any harder this year than it was last year,” Smart had mentioned. See, Georgia had to go up against some monsters this season.

Alabama, Ole Miss, and Vols. Three massive teams, out of which Smart lost to 2. Still, despite all that, they are the team heading into the SEC championship game and will face off against the winner of the Longhorns vs Aggies showdown.

Here is the thing, though. They will probably win it. See, in the worst-case scenario, the Longhorns pull a W, and Steve Sarkisian has to go into a redemption game against the Dawgs. Will he win? No. It’s the same argument once again; the Longhorns have faced no one good this year, and the only time they went up against a powerhouse, they lost 30-15.

However, Sark surely won’t make this showdown easy for Smart and that is a fact. Now for the best-case scenario, the Aggies come out with a win and here Smart will get some leeway. While A&M has had wins against Gators or Mizzou, they lost to Notre Dame and Auburn, so that should tell you everything you need to know. Let’s roll back to the present, though. See, the only hurdle remaining for Smart is GT, but here is the thing. Going into this, the Dawgs will be filled with injuries and this game could turn into a flip.

The final test for Kirby Smart and Co.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Kirby Smart's Bulldogs overcome injuries and SEC giants to claim the championship title?

Have an interesting take?

Why is Georgia Tech dangerous? It’s more about the Dawgs rather than the Tech, to be honest. As we pointed out before, there are some massive injuries. Smart has pointed out that WRs Anthony Evans and Dillon Bell are injured, and on the other end, RBs Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson are also injured.

There has been no injury report out yet marking the players “questionable” or “OUT” for the game, but you never know. And with this part aside, another thing you have to keep in mind is that despite GT being a 7-4 underdog, they won against Miami. While it was a close game at 28-23, the Hurricanes had nothing on the Yellow Jackets’ defense and Cam Ward just couldn’t turn things around for his boys.

Smart is going to the SEC championship, that is for sure, but is he going into it with another loss? We gotta wait and watch.
