The last time Georgia Bulldogs triumphed in crushing Alabama was in 2022. Kirby Smart had been all geared up to flip the narrative in their favor this season. But September 28 was not the right day for their luck to favor. Guess who burst their bubble? Had to be Kalen DeBoer’s biggest weapon, QB Jalen Milroe. Even though Smart’s plans went awry, it did not stop him from singing in Milroe’s praise. But that didn’t mean he threw his QB Carson Beck under the bus. Instead, Smart went without taking Beck’s name.
While Saturday’s game gave a famous basketball coach a confidence boost, Georgia fans weren’t too happy with Beck. They basically put him on their ‘do not like’ list.

Before the 2024 kickoff, the Carson Beck hype has been real! But DeBoer’s Tide came up with a grounding alert for Smart’s QB on Saturday night. He went with throwing two interceptions in the first half. Things further took an ugly turn when Beck was called for an intentional grounding in the end zone. Did it get their HC upset? Definitely yes. Did it upset the HC enough to criticize Beck openly? No. Instead, Smart has been smart enough to pan the focus toward Beck’s quarterback counterpart, Jalen Milroe. Right after the game, the Alabama staff writer Mike Rodak shared a bite from the Georgia HC’s interview where he said, “We’ve had no answers for Milroe. He’s a great athlete — a phenomenal athlete.”
Kirby Smart to ABC: “We’ve had no answers for Milroe. He’s a great athlete — a phenomenal athlete. We’ve struggled to tackle him. We don’t have the edges. They’ve done a really good job throwing with him out of empty — and that’s been new.”

Even though Smart just brushed upon their shortcomings, he did not find it important enough to hold Beck responsible. He only went with, “We’ve struggled to tackle him. We don’t have the edges.” On the other side, DeBoer’s QB Milroe had given Crimson Tide an early 7-0 lead. Thanks to his 7-yard rushing touchdown. Not just his touchdown, he carried the pigskin 4 times for 30 yards. Milroe’s feat was enough to reel in big shots beyond the football sport.

September 28 has been indeed a big day for college football fans. But it turned out to be even grander. Beck’s rough game and Milroe’s amazing performance had Dawn Staley, the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball coach, scrambling to change her plans. She was so caught up in the game on Saturday that she decided to switch teams halfway through.

The game has been so thrilling, she just had to pick up her phone and tweet, “Thought I set my Saturday night up for a great game……it is but only for one team…Tide! Now I have to cheer for Georgia to make it a game. Chill yall Tide….I just want a great game!” Like the bigshots, the fans too are on the verge of flipping sides as they bring down their fav QB Beck from the pedestal they had put him on after the Heisman hype.
Carson Beck’s recent performance is definitely raising concerns among Georgia fans about his NFL prospects. One fan even went so far as to say, “Carson Beck is not a NFL QB. He’s no where near ready. An NFL defensive would eat him alive week after week.” Now, no matter how Kirby Smart tries his best to side-step the convo, Georgia’s fortress gatekeeper got all wobbly!
