The college football SEC weekend is rolling. Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs are busy lacing up their shoes for the second season encounter, but this time in a much more serious milieu. Georgia has been phenomenal this season except for their Carson Beck and questionable offense. After losing to Ole Miss, they have taken care of their consistent woes, and Carson Beck looked a lot better on the field after an intense backlash spree. But would that be enough for the Dawgs to sustain the No. 2? Longhorns? Well, if you judge based on their previous 30-15 victory over Steve Sarkisian and the team, you are in a fool’s paradise. Texas has regenerated ever since they took a punch in their gut from the Bulldogs and racked up six consecutive victories. Time for Kirby Smart to be on his guard. Adam Breneman smells some danger!
Texas is not the same as they were before. When Sarkisian has seen his team fall flat against a solid Dawgs defense, all he could say ”hopefully, we get another crack at them.” The coach lived up to his words and earned a chance to dodge their past against the Bulldogs. At this point, a crucial SEC win will hand them a much sought-after bye into the quarterfinals, but at the same time, it will appease their adrift prestige over a past opponent. There will be some prime factors to watch out for both teams. Georgia’s plus is having Carson Beck in the form, but Texas has more windows to bank on. CFB analyst Adam Breneman predicted a massive 27-17 win for Texas and not for nothing.
Adam backed up his bombshell verdict with raw facts. ”This Texas Defense is on an entirely new level. They have allowed two yards a carry in the last three games. I mean, you will win almost every game you play if you allow two yards a carry. They already picked off back three times in their first match, and this defense has a plan, knows how to attack Georgia and I think we will be right back in that area of bringing pressure being able to get back with only rushing four and then playing great cover in the secondary.”

He catered to the gusty performance of the Longhorns over the Aggies in a historic rivalry reprisal.”Texas allowed no point to Texas A&M on defense. Texas A&M game was a pick-six when they played last week, and then A&M, though, was fresh off a 40-point performance at Auburn. Texas holds them to no points. I don’t think Carson Beck will be able to keep up.”
This is an eye-opening revelation for Smart and his boys. Georgia might hold a fifth rank and be seeded seventh by the CFP committee on Tuesday, but a third loss will lower their final CFP rank even more, leaving their national title hope in some serious jeopardy.
Kirby Smart seems to be on edge ahead of the decisive SEC weekend
Kirby Smart knows the math. He knows that today’s Texas is a different breed and is pretty tough to be tamed. And guess what, he’s not chilling around, leaving it to their fate. Georgia has a far from smooth sailing journey to their playoff path this season. Right now, you might get a strong gut kick saying the Dawgs are going to clinch the title for the fourth time. Smart knows what it takes to mount the season this far. They ate a humble pie from Ole Miss and Alabama. They dealt with one of the toughest schedules in the conference.

What’s your perspective on:
Can the Georgia Bulldogs handle the heat, or will Texas Longhorns steal their thunder this weekend?
Have an interesting take?
In fact, if Alabama and Ole Miss did not lose their third regular season game in week 14, the reality would look different for Smart, Karson Beck, and Malaki Stark. So, there is zero room to sit and relax. Although Carson Beck turned his fate around, scoring 11 touchdowns and just one interception since the Florida game, the pain of the three crushing interceptions with zero TDs in one game is still bunting. Kirby Smart is wise enough to see the reality.
During the pre-game media appearance, the veteran HC expressed his concern over a top-tier opponent, saying, “I worry about everything. I’m very concerned about everything about Texas.”
Even if Carson Beck delivers, he can’t do it alone. He needs to be strictly confined in the offense and the defense needs to put on their best to pose at least some threat to a compact Texas Longhorns!
