Did Glen Powell's surprise appearance steal the spotlight from Georgia's thrilling win over Mississippi State?

“I was really impressed with our fans,” head coach Kirby Smart said after the Bulldogs registered their fifth victory of the season. Bulldogs made a comeback last week after losing to Alabama Crimson Tide. They started where they left off in week 6. This Saturday, they displayed some phenomenal performance throughout the game against Mississippi State and won by 41-31. Tide impressed their fans with a thrilling win, but Mississippi State fans did not go empty-handed. They were able to witness actor Glen Powell at Sanford Stadium during the game.

On 12th October, football fans had a new experience; they saw American popular actor Glen Powell running onto the field with a camera crew. Powell is currently shooting for a comedy series called “Chad Powers.” Sports anchor Alison Mastrangelo interviewed quarterback Beck and head coach Smart after the game and asked if they knew anything about the shoot or met the actor.

Alison Mastrangelo took X, shared the interview, and tweeted, An upcoming TV series called #ChadPowers shot a scene at halftime during the Georgia Mississippi State game last night. So postgame I asked Carson Beck & Kirby Smart if they knew anything about it or met @glenpowell #godawgs #georgiabulldogs.” It looks like the player and HC were totally unaware of the shoot. Quarterback replied, “oh, no, i had no clue.” Kirby Smart had the same answer. Both of them were doing their business on the field. Smart said, “No. I don’t know, I don’t see it. “

The series “Chad Powers” is about Russ Holiday, a former college football player. The story is about a quarterback who pretends to be Chad Powers, who struggles to join a Southern Football team and tries to rescue his career. Powell is known for his roles in “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone But You.”

During halftime, the crowd was asked to boo the blue and white-clad Mississippi State team as Powell ran onto the field, which was part of the shoot. 

On the field, we saw a mixed game from the Bulldogs’ QB1. Carson Beck was criticized two weeks ago, but he managed to bounce back and display some impressive game plays against Auburn. Similar this Saturday, he took the lead and helped the Bulldogs win against Mississippi State. Let’s discuss his performance.

Quarterback Carson Beck remained calm and composed in the second half and stepped up when No. 5 Georgia faced tough opposition from underdog Mississippi State. Although he was struggling, he managed to stand out. Last Saturday, he set a personal best with 459 passing yards and also scored three touchdowns.

ESPN reported HC Kirby Smart’s comments on Beck’s performance, which clearly reflect that HC is happy with QB’s attitude on the field. and said, “He’s experienced.” He added, “The game gets a little tight there, and he’s cool, not panicked.”

Georgia was ahead 34-10 in the second quarter, but then Mississippi State’s quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. helped his team score two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Van Buren also contributed some strong plays, which allowed Mississippi to finish in a better position, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.

Beck tossed two interceptions, one of them on the Bulldog’s second play, which led the opposition to score from a field goal. Beck is focused and looks like he is not only winning, but the process matters to him. “It’s, like, it is what it is,” Beck said. “Let’s go. It doesn’t matter; just keep playing the game and keep going. And then you start to find a rhythm.”
