Is Coach Prime the savior the Cowboys need, or just another headline-grabbing move by Jerry Jones?

The “Dark Horse” of college football. Colorado’s redemption arc would go down in history as one of the best. Last season, Deion Sanders and his boys were all over the place. With a 4-8 run and allowing more than 30+ points in every single game, the Buffs quickly became the joke of CFB. More so because of Coach Prime and Shedeur Sanders‘ attitude. The world quickly marked them as “playing for clicks”. But here we are now. With 6-2 under his belt, Deion Sanders has wiped the smirk off of the haters. This is, arguably, one of the best starts Colorado has ever had since 2018. So, it ain’t no wonder why the NFL now wants “Prime Time”.

A few hours back, we explored how, on an episode of Jason Whitlock’s podcast, Cowboys could turn to Coach Prime to help turn their season around. Jerry Jones and his team are on a 3-5 run, and it does not look good. However, back on Reddit, fans are quite divided with the potential move. One user was quick to show their dismay. “COWBOYS COACH PRIME. Kill me now,” they mentioned. The thing is, is this a bad move? If you think about it, Deion Sanders probably has the potential to switch things around for Jones.

If we even check the Buffs’ history, this team was 1-11 before Coach Prime took over. From that, they went with 4-8. Yes, they over-promised last season but under-delivered, but you cannot say that there was no improvement. He-k, even this season, we have seen massive growth in almost every aspect.

Deion Sanders, bringing in the NFL coaching experience through Pat Shurmur and Robert Livingstone, has completely switched up the feel of the team. Shedeur Sanders is in a really good spot now. This guy was the most sacked QB last season and this year? He has been on point. He single-handedly managed to turn the Baylor game around with his accurate 45-yard Hail Mary from a collapsing pocket.

And if that wasn’t enough, against Kansas State, where Coach Prime lost his entire WR depth because of injuries, Shedeur Sanders still made plays and grabbed 3 touchdowns along with 388 yards. On the defense end, Livingstone has changed the face of the team. The Buffs have barely allowed anyone to cross past the 30-point mark, and the entire D-line has been on point in stopping rush games. Coach Prime knows what he is doing and this could help out the Cowboys. However, all in all, fans have pointed out a lot of questions on Reddit.

Prime Time at Dallas

“Why not? This is 100 percent a Jerry move and it would be incredibly entertaining to watch. We aren’t winning any playoff games anyways regardless of who coaches the team,” was what one Reddit user pointed out. See, one thing is for sure, Deion Sanders brings the glam and the media with him. We have seen how the entire Buffs social media game has changed after Coach Prime took over. So yeah, there are some added advantages of bringing Prime Time to Dallas.

Another Reddit user mentioned, “lol id love this. I’d love to see him draft his son and throw every. Single. Time.” See, this is kind of debatable. Yes, Shedeur still has a long way to go if he wants to be the starting QB for an NFL team, but you cannot sit there and deny that he has the potential. Over the 2 seasons, this guy has drastically improved. His throws are on point. The overall chemistry he can maintain is good. The only thing is, if he is given enough protection in the pocket, he can change up the game real quick.

One last fan pointed out something that kind of goes along with what the first Reddit user had mentioned. “It would be great for business. Brings a lot of headlines and eyeballs on the cowboys,” they wrote. There is drama, there is masala. Do you have any idea how many teams in CFB hate Buffs? But at the end of the day, negative publicity is still publicity.

And while fans continue to discuss, why don’t you join EssentiallySports to learn all about the NFL’s changing global game?
