When it comes to college football, Kalen DeBoer is not only focused on “moving the chains” at Alabama but also evading tackles and blitzes on all fronts. Although the Crimson Tide endured a playoff snub, the true game begins now. With playoff hopes melting away like a fudgesicle on a hot day and challenges piling up faster than penalties on a tough night, DeBoer confronts a red zone of mounting problems. Will this end Alabama’s future under DeBoer’s play-calling, or is there more left to it? But right now, the team has a recruiting challenge to overcome!

Looks like Bama’s head coach, Kalen DeBoer, is losing at every point he thought he would excel with his team. First, they had three very unexpected losses against Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma this season. Then, after Saturday’s showdown, where the Clemson Tigers won against the SMU Mustangs against all the odds, they made Bama’s playoff hopes just a dream. The only thing left for DeBoer was to come up with a strong team next year and prove his worth, but now that is also in jeopardy. Yeah, you heard that right!

On December 9th, recruiting analyst Hayes Fawcett made a big revelation on X, saying, Alabama True Freshman WR Caleb Odom plans to enter the transfer portal, he tells @on3sports.” If you haven’t heard anything yet, even Alabama receiver Kendrick Law is reportedly entering the transfer portal, according to a source at @On3sports. Looks like DeBoer’s worst nightmares are coming to reality.

More players are being added to the transfer list. Even offensive lineman Miles McVay is going to enter the portal. Bama’s junior wide receiver, Kobe Prentice, is also next on the list. This is nothing less than a disaster for a team like Bama. Even fans couldn’t believe that their favorite team would face this much of a big fall after starting well this season. The fact that so many folks are going out of their way to attack Alabama is just because of its brand value; otherwise, it wouldn’t have even mattered to anyone.

Kalen DeBoer’s hopes are dashed

Players entering the transfer portal is very evident after what a disastrous season this has been. However, other teams still make it to the playoffs, and Bama getting left out of it even after being in the 11th position is something that head coach Kalen DeBoer could also not make peace with.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Kalen DeBoer losing his grip on Alabama's future with these unexpected player transfers?

Have an interesting take?

The way he was so sure about Bama making it up to the playoffs was pretty clear in his statement that he said just before the news came out. “You know where we feel we belong, and feeling that we’re one of those teams that certainly should be in the playoffs,” DeBoer said. Well, filling up for Nick Saban was always gonna bring a ton of backlash for DeBoer, but he always stood up by his guards and guided his team.

Now, looking at a broader prospect, even though the team is out of the playoffs, there is still some chance left for them to at least show their best game of the season and make the most out of it. The Tides are still eligible to play the bowl game, and they will go up against Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, which will take place in Tampa on New Year’s Eve. It’s hard for a team to sustain such a rough patch in a game where once they were the sole winners of seven straight championships. But it’s not like the end of the world, and next season will give them a chance to make all this misery go away in a blink.
