Is Kalen DeBoer regretting his move to Alabama after the latest Crimson Tide defeat?

Alabama is down again. This time, it’s Tennessee that took the victory belt as Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide suffered a 24-17 blow. Seven games, two losses. This isn’t looking good for the former Washington HC’s record who might be having some second thoughts about transferring to Tuscaloosa as Nick Saban’s replacement.

OutKick founder Clay Travis has a mouthful to say about Kalen DeBoer in a recent post on X on October 22. In an episode of OutKick The Show with Clay , he boldly stated, “He’ll never say it publicly but I think Kalen DeBoer regrets leaving Washington right now after losses at Vanderbilt and losses at Tennessee.

Clay Travis attributed the success at Washington as the main reason why Kalen DeBoer could be missing the Huskies. “He had Washington rolling” with “a lot of success there.” Recall last season. The impactful coach led the Huskies to a 14-0 season with the lone loss in the National Championship game against the Michigan Wolverines. Also, with the Big Ten program, he “gets to live in Seattle… stay out of the craziness of SEC football,” and have a somewhat “normal life.” What’s not tempting about that!?

Holding the reins of one of the SEC powerhouses comes with its own drawbacks, with some of them being under constant scrutiny and facing elite opponents. Kalen DeBoer has been facing tremendous pressure from fans and analysts right from ascending Nick Saban’s role. Besides, the two losses this season have also stained his record. With more ranked opponents on their schedule, fans are wary of throwing their confidence in the Crimson Tide. Can DeBoer and his guys come up with something to avert misfortune?

Kalen DeBoer suffers in Alabama debut season

Kalen DeBoer’s sweet honeymoon phase came to a deep crash after the Vanderbilt upset. While they were able to cope up with a close win over South Carolina after that, No. 11 Tennessee proved their dominance as Alabama fell with 15 penalties for 115 yards against Tennessee. Heartbroken DeBoer said in his post game speech, “Here in the SEC there’s such a fine line between winning and losing and that’s how you get beat. That’s on all of us.”

Following the loss, QB Jalen Milroe encouraged both his teammates and fans saying, “There’s so much more football left.” Technically, five games are left, including two ranked opponents – No. 21 Missouri in their next matchup and No. 8 LSU in the following week. Can they up their game and show who the SEC boss is? Are people slamming Kalen DeBoer with more criticism than necessary?
