Can Jalen Milroe bounce back and lead Alabama to victory against their fierce rivals, Tennessee?

Do you really think Kalen DeBoer is enjoying his first season with Alabama? Well, the answer was a resounding ‘YES’ after their 4-0 start. A win over the Bulldogs? The cherry on the cake! Then, Vanderbilt happened, and it seemed like the former Huskies head coach did not have a clue on the sidelines. The defense was in tatters, and DeBoer and his DC could not do anything to stop the leak. The 27-25 win over South Carolina helped the overall record, but was it a good performance? Even the most ardent DeBoer backers would not argue that. Now, they go against their SEC rivals, Tennessee, and analysts are highlighting some issues with the team.

Spencer McLaughlin, the host of the ‘Locked On College Football’ show, discussed Alabama’s Week 8 game against the Vols in his latest episode. Well, to start the discussion, McLaughlin went straight to the QB of the team, and Jalen Milroe “doesn’t look right because he doesn’t look comfortable.” This wasn’t an issue against Vanderbilt, but in their Week 7 game, Milroe was off after a successful drive to start the encounter. Was it a rhythm issue? What’s behind the interceptions? Even his connection with Ryan Williams looked off. Most importantly, Milroe made some mistakes that were attached to a past version, which everyone believed that he had gotten over.

As per McLaughlin, “Kaleen DeBoer and Nick Sheridan, the offensive coordinator, and the rest of that staff have to find a way to get Jalen Milroe back on track, because right now he’s gotten the train off the tracks.” Four sacks”? That doesn’t look good on the O-line, but in some of the plays, Milroe held the ball for too long! Although he was forced to make decisions much faster than usual due to the Gamecocks’ relentless pass rush, Tide fans expect more from him. An intentional grounding call in the end zone that led to a safety, as well as multiple interceptions and other mistakes. That can’t happen against the Vols.

How did you fix a QB who was in the Heisman discussion a week ago? Well, “They [DeBoer and Sheridan] have to find a way to get Jalen Milroe comfortable and consistent with the two C’s, get him comfortable in the pocket, and get him playing consistently solid football where he’s not throwing the ball into double coverage, where he’s protecting the football, making plays from the pocket.” It is important for the team’s fortune that Milroe gets back to being the Heisman Trophy favorite, or at least to his version in the earlier games of the season.

One thing that Kalen DeBoer can’t afford against the Vols away from home is playing against a lead. Tennessee simply can’t have a hot start. A struggling offense can really cripple when that happens. We have already seen that with multiple teams. A team is chasing a 0-14, and we see their offense being one-dimensional. The run game goes out of the picture, and the QB is forced to rely on the passing game. That is what every defense dreams of. Again, for Milroe’s confidence, the team has to run their planned plays and not get forced to look at alternatives. It’s going to be a highly tense game, and although, the Crimson Tide has had better of the Vols in the past decade, these are new times! How is Milroe looking at this game? Let’s find out.

Why does Jalen Milroe feel confident ahead of their biggest rivalry?

Although quarterback and Heisman Trophy contender Jalen Milroe’s recent performance is getting criticism. He is feeling optimistic ahead of the Tide’s road game against Tennessee.
