J.J. Watt staying loyal to Wisconsin—Is this the kind of loyalty we need more of in sports?

Instead of climbing, Kalen Deboer is flying up the ladder with the Tides. His slogan for success surely is if practice doesn’t work, words will. Alabama wanted a proven winner, and DeBoer is the one as he owns his game. Living up to the team’s expectations puts him under a lot of pressure.

As the season is about to start, Kalen DeBoer and the rest of the team could benefit from some additional motivation. But who can do it except Kalen? Introducing JJ Watt, the defensive end of the NFL and Wisconsin legend. Kalen DeBoer is giving his best to fill in Nick Saban’s shoes, not leaving any chance to inspire his team,

On August 17, Former Wisconsin star J.J. Watt shared a tweet of pleasure after visiting the Alabama team “Very engaged and attentive group with some great questions as well. I appreciate the invitation and wish you luck in every game except September 14th”!  Watt couldn’t let it slide without a sarcastic take as he is a forever Badgers alum.

To which DeBoer replied, Such a great message from @JJWatt! Thank you for sharing with our team some of the experiences and knowledge you’ve gained over your great career!”. Although he was thankful for his presence and his mentoring for the Tide players, DeBoer’s message was pretty humble, yet seemed like an answer to JJ’s tweet.

This witty chit-chat between JJ Watt and Kalen is getting all the necessary attention before the actual showdown. Alabama, ranked No. 5 in the AP poll Top 25, under Kalen DeBoer. It’s not a bad rank, but this could be upsetting as Alabama is ranked historically low this season.

Have an interesting take?

This is going to be the first season without Nick Saban for the Crimson Tides, but one can’t ignore how Bama changed ever since DeBoer took over the camp. There were some major losses in the player count, but DeBoer managed to gain 29 starts back. Not only that, but DeBoer also got exceptional players like Ty Haywood and Caleb Cunningham on the team making the team’s offensive lines strong. One should never miss out on what he did for Washington and Sioux Falls.

Kalen DeBoer is putting tremendous effort into his team, taking sessions for his team has become a cultural practice for Alabama. A few months back, DeBoer invited Hunter Pinke to speak, where he said, “I don’t know for a fact that you’re gonna win a national championship this year. But the direction has been set. That’s where we’re going.” His message was inspiring for the team. Well, a loss to Wisconsin so early under DeBoer could raise possible questions about his abilities.
