Kadyn Proctor has not played more than two games for the Bamas in the ongoing peak season. But that doesn’t mean he got his worth diminished in any way. Let’s not get fooled. The young prodigy has been carrying the practical essence of the proverb: quality over quantity. Dishing out some off-the-chart performances, the 19-year-old kept adding stack to his hottest resume in college football. He had shown tremendous maturity during a crucial block in the Wisconsin winning game, but this is not the only thing he does the best. He simultaneously improved his fan image, personality, and marketing skills, leading to the path of owning a solid NIL deal.

The QB, who started the session with an injury quickly bounced back. But what remains unbanished is his worth as both a team player as well as a brand ambassador who can even pull the most reluctant eyeballs to the house.

Proctor has fully lived up to his ranking as the No. 7 overall recruit and No. 1 offensive lineman in the 2023 class. The host of records and awards is nothing but a pay-off for the job he did and keeps doing wherever (whichever team) he gets planted. In the latter half of 2022, the standout Bama talent transitioned to the Crimson Tide Camp from Iowa State and added some mind-blowing stats to his individual as well as the team’s pride book. His tremendous grit and ability earned him a spot in the SEC All-Freshman Tеam in 2023.

The feat list is longer, but it’s important to remember that these achievements, while they may endear a player to fans, don’t automatically guarantee personal branding or a high-value market beyond the sport. This is something Proctor made of his own and bagged several lucrative NIL deals to his name. His valuation stands at $727K while the NIL Rank is #84 as of 2024.

But there’s a dark side to the 19-year-old’s NIL success.

Proctor invites controversy after leaving Iowa State with an overdue NIL money

Proctor’s first ride with the Tide was as short as a season. Before he could settle his feet in Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban pulled the rug off his historical tenure as a head coach of the Bama after the team faced a shattering blow from Michigan. Although the regents didn’t take long to decide Kalen DeBoer as the man to carry the legacy forward, an air of uncertainty loomed large that made Proctor question his decision and enter the transfer portal again. The obvious choice for him was Iowa State, the program he dumped during high school. But as they say, history repeats itself. Shortly after, Proctor headed back home via another transfer portal, inviting a chain of controversy.

The critics’ interpretation says Proctor Commits to Iowa around the same time ‘The Swarm’ fundraises $100k. He grabbed the NIL money and then left for good even without paying Iowa the money back. However, The Swarm was tight-lipped about it, citing “confidentiality.” While it’s still under scrutiny whether he was the motive to run away with the money or it was just a course of events, the escapade throws dirt on his reputation to some extent.
