Julian Lewis's playful reaction to missing Sanders trip—Is this the kind of spirit we need in sports?

The Sanders brothers just had to break out the chill pill and cool things down. While the fans are too worked up about the upcoming big face-off between the Colorado Buffaloes and Nebraska Cornhuskers on September 7, Deion Sanders Jr. and Shedeur Sanders dropped in with some fun session. No, it’s not about how they are gearing up.

Instead, they had their favorite Julian “JuJu” Lewis on their podcast. And there the USC 5-star commit had spilled some beans. He playfully complained about not getting invited to be on the private Sanders trip. Meanwhile, the Buffs too can’t wait to have Lewis in their wagon, especially after his heroic performance on Friday, August 30 night.

The Sanders brothers are always fun peeps to be around. And when Lewis gets added up to the duo, it’s like fun with a turbo boost. On the September 3 episode on the 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders, Lewis got lucky to be in the guest seat. And guess what was the topic of discussion? The USC star went back to an incident back in July when Shedeur and Deion Jr. took a trip in Deion Sanders’ $360,350-worth private jet. Of course, Lewis knew about it, after all, the Sanders brothers went viral with the rap they shot while flying at $40,000 feet.

But poor Lewis! Even though he is often hailed as the Buffs’ favorite, he is yet to receive the invitation to be onboard of the plush jet. So, when during the podcast Shedeur said, “Just you just gotta be a part of it one time bro,” the Trojans 5-star commit took the chance to roast Shedeur a little!

Faking as if he had been hurt by the QB’s gesture, Lewis playfully replied, “I don’t get invited to private the private Sanders strip son. I’m not there.” However, very soon the Trojans QB commit would be spotted on the jet, now that the Buffs’ hunger to land him got even more intense after the recent Carlton vs. Rome face-off.

Carrollton (Ga.) defeated Rome (Ga.) 44-22 on August 30. And no brownie points for guessing, who had been the star of the night. Of course, it had to be Lewis. The 5-star QB commit threw for 352 yards and five touchdowns. Not just this, Lewis had picked up one score on the ground. His five passing scores were enough to give his rank the much-needed boost.

On the Georgia leaderboard for career passing touchdowns, Lewis has now moved up to the 12th rank. All these factors combined just make the race to land the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback for the 2025 cycle even more intense. Looks like Deion’s Buffs are riding high on a winning wave. And Lewis keeps on dropping hints. In an earlier post, the Trojans QB commit was spotted posing beside Shedeur Sanders, being seated on the Buffs throne in the Colorado jersey, where the Buffs QB handed him the keys.

The latest post on August 11 further sparked the buzz of Julian Lewis landing in Boulder when his IG post was shared by the Buffs fan account on X. It showed the QB’s new cleats in the signature black and gold color theme. Waiting for the moment, Lewis can officially sport his Buffs pride!
