There is no secret on where the Colorado Buffs’ QB room is heading. The dynamic, eye-soothing duo of Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders is a relishing history. Shilo Sanders also followed suit, waiting for his chance to get a good NFL deal. Coach Prime looked a bit pale while giving a low-key farewell to his boys but never even dared to think he would have a problem routing for a bounce-back season with the alternative offensive guys in the portal. Because he won’t. Except for the emotional voidness, Coach Prime literally has no reason to weep over.
Looking only at the QB room, he has two outstanding kids there, Kaidon Salter and Julian Lewis. The only problem there is both of them are visibly aiming for the starting spotlight. Who will play a pivotal role in the Buffs’ upcoming offensive surge?

Kaidon Salter or Julian Lewis: who is the upcoming poster boy in Boulder?
Lewis, having achieved a remarkable season with over 3,000 passing yards, was widely anticipated to succeed Shedeur Sanders. However, he now confronts the challenge of competing with Salter’s impressive potential and distinct playing style. Evaluating the situation, insider Darius Sanders gave both of them the flowers, and it’s not just because of what they are doing on the gridiron but for an underdog attitude that commands regard. ‘‘Just respect and grind; they work, they don’t talk, they talk when we put the camera because they know it’s content, but they’re not chatters; they’re workers.”
Kind of like Shedeur?” asked the host of DNVR Buffs. Darius replied, ”Yeah, yeah, I don’t know, well, no yeah, I’ll give it to them yeah, because I would say their play can back up if they did want to talk.”

The former Liberty is bringing a knack for electrifying playmaking and earning every right to fill up the shoes of Shedeur. Capping off the Flames’ undefeated regular season and earning Conference USA MVP honors, the junior quarterback put together 3,965 all-purpose yards and 44 touchdowns in 2023, screaming louder than ever that he is made for more.
You can take his dual-threat ability and make a solid case for the next Shedeur Sanders debate, but you need not be. On the other hand, JuJu has been an old target for the Buffs to replace Deion Sanders’ QB son in the long run. In a common ground, none of them are flexing what they can do for the team. Deion Sanders faithful put it up like this.
‘They just elect to be like, ‘No, I’m just chilling. I’m just here to work right now,’ and I think now they don’t have to talk as much cuz we had to talk a lot because there was a lot of hate. we had to be louder for sure, right? Yeah, like we have to pop it a little bit because y’all are saying this and that, and we can’t do this, we can’t do that.”
Slowly and surely, the tables have been turned. People started to believe that the Buffs were gearing up for something great with two great kids on their board. Watching JuJu work the pocket feels like witnessing a master painter at his easel—every movement calculated, every throw a brushstroke of genius.
“Now you have an expectation to be great. you know, the team can be good, so the talk is really not going to do anything for you, buddy. We’re already getting views; there’s already a lot of eyes on you, Buddy. I love so so what do you want to do with it that’s basically it. I like Salter; I like Juju,.. is a good guy, a man, so is Kaidon; I love it, man,” Darius concluded his take on a highly touted debate.
Despite Darius not being direct about any one of them carrying more odds, the latest activities of Salter are adding to JuJu’s head pain.

Kaidon Salter doesn’t hold back while going big on his Colorado promise
Colorado has been obsessive in their all-or-nothing pursuit of Julian Lewis. Deion Sanders did everything possible to impress the Carrollton high school native, from having a 101-year-old Colorado superfan root for the kid to naming a burger after him. Consequently, their effort made sense as they gained his commitment back in November. But the question now begs: do they even need them anymore?
Despite Darius’ middle-ground explanation, it’s a tricky area to shed light on. They are still chewing over two of the most talented guys out there. But to look at the present dynamic, it’s Salter who is holding a little upper hand over JuJu, seemingly, though.
During a recent appearance on the Well Off Media podcast, the Buffs newcomer oozed tremendous poise and confidence while saying, ”It’s time for me to come in.” Justifying his big words, the QB phenom went on adding, ”Shedeur did his thing here, but it’s time for me to come in and do what I got to do. What Shedeur did, and it’s time for me to come in and start my own legacy year.”

Could that be a threat for Julian Lewis? Well, the work will tell you the rest; after all, they are not chatters, they are workers.
