Now that’s what you call ‘Perfect Timing.’ Finally, FINALLY, Colorado Buffaloes’ Mission JuJu got successful. After months of arduous hard work, they got lucky in winning 5-star quarterback in the Class of 2025, Julian Lewis’ heart as the young chap committed to Deion Sanders’ army on Thursday, November 21. When the 17-year-old decommitted from Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans, it was evident he was up for something. Looks like now that Lewis is part of the Buffs fam, even his proud dad, T.C. Lewis, got all emotional. After all, he too holds a soft corner for Deion and his army. Now you must be wondering why the No.2 player went for Colorado, snubbing an offer from Kirby Smart’s Georgia. He had given out the reasons behind the rejection.
Yes, Buffs fans, your fav Coach Prime has done it again. Deion himself is enough to shock the fans with his recruitment magic. Back in Jackson State, it was Travis Hunter in the class of 2022 and then the 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton in the class of 2024. And now Lewis. It has become an annual tradition. This time he had fought with his blood, sweat, and tears to woo the Carrollton 5-star QB Lewis. Maybe, deep down, the athlete’s biggest supporter, his father too, wanted this to happen. So as soon as Lewis declared joining Deion’s program, he could not resist dropping a moving message on X. T.C. Lewis started by sharing gratitude: “From the bottom of my heart I want to thank every member of the @CUBuffsFootball staff.”
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank every member of the @CUBuffsFootball staff. Your integrity, cohesiveness and communication are 2nd to none in the nation. We are blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of the Colorado Buff family! pic.twitter.com/cyCISn0d5Z

The proud father then went on to highlight how this collab is going to gift his son with the best of the best given team Colorado’s USP that makes no other program better than the Buffs. “Your integrity, cohesiveness, and communication are 2nd to none in the nation. We are blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of the Colorado Buff family!” wrote Lewis’ father. Now is it because T.C. Lewis knows Coach Prime personally? Well, maybe, since in one of the episodes of the Locked On Buffs podcast, analyst Scott Procter revealed some important insights.
“Dukes tells me that Coach Prime and Julian’s father talk about more than just football. They have a real kind of close friendship, and that could just be the turning point that gets Juju to flip from USC to Colorado,” stated the Buffs reporter. Now can Lewis bring an end to Deion’s “Last Chance” narrative?

Julian Lewis’ journey from Georgia’s grasp to Coach Prime’s kingdom
What if I tell you Lewis was one lucky man to find himself on Georgia Bulldogs HC Smart’s list of favorites? But maybe HC Smart is not too smart for the young chap. Is that so, or whether Deion’s son Shedeur Sanders’ space to fill was too irresistible for Lewis? Looks like the second option is the reason behind JuJu turning down a total of 35 offers that included Georgia as well.
What’s your perspective on:
Did Julian Lewis make the right call choosing Deion Sanders over Lincoln Riley and Kirby Smart?
Have an interesting take?
On The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, the 5-star QB commit explained, “It was big for me coming in after Shedeur and what he’s done to Colorado and what he’s turned it into. It’s definitely a blessing to get put into this position, coming after him with his dad. I couldn’t beat it.” After all, it’s the charm of running after a $6.2 million NIL value and getting a spot in the top position in the NIL list among college athletes. Even though it’s a long way to go for the 17-year-old to reach Shedeur’s fame, it better start early. Does that mean by locking Lewis, the Buffs are able to lock the gates for their Coach Prime?

Well, this can be true. After all, after this season, Deion Sanders will no longer have his favorite Buffs around. Both his son Shedeur and dual-threat Travis Hunter will be off to the NFL, and the Buffs HC will be returning to an empty nest. In that case, he can now invest his time and energy to build Julian Lewis from scratch and mold him into an absolute Buffs phenom like the other two.
