Ohio State Buckeyes’ loss against Oregon sparked a series of doubts about Ryan Day and his abilities as a coach. Even famous media personality Josh Pate took a blunt shot at his team, saying, “I feel as though I was there last night. Ohio State was occasionally shaken and disturbed by that atmosphere.” Which resulted in a big-time troll for Day. However, Pete’s recent remarks on him did a lot of damage control as fans finally understood what Ryan is capable of doing. Surprising right?

Today, CBS Sports and 247Sports shared a carousel post on Instagram addressing Josh Pete’s recent remarks on Ryan Day, saying, “I think Nick Saban ruined this game for a lot of you.” 🗣️ @latekickjosh” Well, there was a discussion going on about Day’s hold over his team and whether he is the right fit for Ohio State or not, but now that Josh has blamed it on Nick Saban’s standard, there is still hope left for him. However, every coach hopes to emulate Nick Saban’s ability to lead his team to seven national championships.

Josh Pete also added to it, saying, “A lot of you watched what Saban did at Alabama, and that became your standard. You think that’s supposed to be real? What Saban did at Alabama is not supposed to happen.” As mentioned, doing what Nick Saban did for his team is not everyone’s cup of tea, and such high expectations even ruin their game execution.

However, in Ryan Day’s case, Ohio State did put up a strong game against Oregon, scoring 31 points on 467 yards. But there were also some areas for improvement, like the long passes and runs ruining their game. But fans are still standing with him and the team.

Have an interesting take?

After facing a nightmare of criticism for his coaching style and approach towards the team post Ohio State’s loss against Oregon, there is finally some good news for Ryan Day. Fans are eventually coming to terms with his skills and abilities. ”Ryan Day is a h–l of a coach. It’s hard to win it all consistently.” Last week, the Buckeyes ended their 5 consecutive winning streaks, after which there was a lot of discussion about whether Ryan is the right coach for the team, but Josh Pate’s recent remarks put an end to it. “Ryan Day will put all the critics to bed the rest of the year; mark my words.” A fan asserted. Well, Josh was the one who raised a question about the Buckeyes’ future in the tournament with “shaken” and “disturbed” remarks.

Day didn’t win any championships in his tenure with Ohio State, but he led them to a national championship game in 2020, where they lost to Alabama. The team was also selected for the playoffs three times under him. Even in their last game, they lost with a difference of one point. Well, that’s enough to say that one game can’t decide your whole career. Even this fan agrees with it, saying, “Ryan Day is our coach and will be for a long time. Only casuals don’t want Ryan Day.” This fan made a really interesting comparison between Ryan Day and Penn State head coach James Franklin and Nick Saban, saying, “Ryan Day is the Nick Saban of James Franklins.” In this context, it suggests that Ryan Day has dominance over James Franklin in the game, exactly the way Nick Saban has dominated many of his coaching rivals. Now that Ryan has fan support, let’s see how long he can be in their good books.
