While Ryan Day had so much pressure entering Saturday’s rivalry game, Sherrone Moore was “chill” before the game. The Buckeyes were thriving with a 10-1 success when this shocker happened. Despite having a three-game winning streak against the Buckeyes, the Wolverines were underdogs for the 2024 season’s last game. NO ONE even thought something like this would happen. Michigan brutally crushed Ohio State in a 13-10 victory.

Now college football legends Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco Johnson reacted to the latest edition of “The Game” and how Sherrone Moore’s squad came out victorious. However, the close game is no longer the point of discussion. Instead, the college football world was shocked at what happened after the game. As Michigan players planted their flag on the Buckeyes’ field, the Ohio State players suddenly woke up and finally decided to show up.

Ocho lashed out at the Ohio State boys for doing what they were doing. “Listen, tempers flair, especially when you try to plant that flag. I call it the Baker Mayfield. I’m sure it’s probably been done before Baker. Baker Mayfield came along and planted that, you know, flag in the middle of the opponent’s home field after a game. But you know, that’s what happens. And as the Michigan player said, I don’t know what his last name was, but he said, ‘you did have 60 minutes to fight.”

Ocho supported the Michigan boys, recalling Kalel Mullings’ ‘you had 60 minutes and four quarters to fight‘ statement. Mullings, who had 116 yards and scored a touchdown, was pis*ed as he believed Ryan Day’s boys just intervened in their postgame celebration, and he even called it “classless.” However, Shannon Sharpe took it further, further adding on to the ‘pointlessness’ of the whole ordeal by the Buckeyes.

“So we had this 60 minutes. Why don’t y’all stop us? Why you want to fight? Now? You want to fight. Look here. They heard, I heard, that the military was looking for a few good men to join the military. You want to fight. God dang it. They see your a-s overseas. If that is what you want to do? Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, Coast Guard. They are looking for a few good men. If that’s what you want to do. Fight? You had 60 minutes to line it up. And now you mad? Why do you want to fight now?” Sharpe said.

You know what police had to intervene using pepper spray to control the crowd after a brawl broke out. Multiple officers from both Ohio State and Michigan deployed the spray, resulting in some Michigan players rubbing their eyes. Not only that, a Franklin County officer was even injured and later taken to a hospital. Now Ocho, an NFL veteran, is quite angry at Ryan Day and his squad for displaying such anger on the field. He directly pointed out where they were during the game. If they are so eager to fight, they should join military services.

An embarrassing loss all around for the Buckeyes

What’s your perspective on:

Did Ohio State's $20 million roster fail them, or was Michigan just too dominant to handle?

What makes Ohio’s loss even more embarrassing is the fact that Michigan won for the fourth time in a row, and Ryan Day could not do anything about that. Ocho took a jab at them by recalling that Ohio State’s roster cost them a whopping $20 million in NIL. Meanwhile, Ohio State’s loss was a mix of bad breaks and missed opportunities. The credit goes to Michigan’s overpowering defense!

The run game? Brutal. 9 out of 22 carries for nothing, all thanks to Michigan’s Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant bullying the O-line. Special teams were also nothing to be proud of. Jayden Fielding missed two kicks, and Henderson missed the opening kickoff of the second half. The defense could not save them after Kalel Mulling’s 27-yard run, which set up the Wolverines’ game-winning field goal.

Uncle Shay also pointed out the money spent on the roster. “But this was supposed to be the year it’s reported that Ohio State has a $20 million roster,” Sharpe said.

Ocho chimed in, saying, Yeah, offensively, they do. They got to. But listen, all credit goes to the Wolverines’ defense tonight; them boys played some ball. Man salute the defensive coordinator, Don Wink Martindale; they had an absolute dominant stretch and performance, and he had them playing phenomenal football to be able to hold Ohio State to the amount of points that they had with all the superstars that they had on offense. You know that $20, that $20 million roster. Man, they [Michigan] played great; they played really good ball. It was a good game.”

The season may be over for the Wolverines, but they have a reason to cherish. Even in a down year, the Buckeyes couldn’t lay hands on them.
