Are the Oregon Ducks truly the best, or is Ohio State still the Big Ten's top dog?

When a college football program like the Oregon Ducks jumps ships from crumbling Pac-12 to the powerhouse Big Ten, you expect fireworks. A majority of heavy hitters football programs in the Big 10 & the SEC. And boy, the Oregon did they deliver. Dominating the Big Ten on the debut season top-tier flex, no doubt there. The Ducks have quickly caught the hype and become the hottest thing in the Big 10. Joel Klatt is all about that.

Recently on November 14, one of the most respected and legit Fox analysts, Joel Klatt, made some waves on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, dropping some bold claims about the Duck’s supremacy. Joe Klatt didn’t hold back his praise. “Oregon right now is the best team in the country. They’re the most balanced, and they’re getting better every single week. Dylan Gabriel gets better every week, and remember he’s a transfer, so it’s his first year in the system.” Can’t say it’s a bold statement, it’s debatable or even a fair statement.

The Oregon Ducks came into this new scary conference and straight went on the field each week, didn’t care who they faced. The Ducks didn’t need time to settle or even adjust to this new climate. And the Oregon Ducks quarterback, Dillon Gabriel, where do I even start? 22 touchdowns with only 5 interceptions into the season. Also, broke the NCAA’s most total touchdown record (179) surpassing former Houston Cougars and NFL QB Case Keenum(178).

But even the best teams gotta through some tough times. Klatt pointed out one significant red flag “If they can just stay healthy, which has been a bit of a question. TZ Johnson has been banged up, one of their wide receivers. Jordan Burch, one of their great defensive players, the defensive end, he’s been banged up. If they can just be healthy, I think they’re the best team in the country,” he said. Injuries to key players like their wide-out TZ Johnson and defensive leader 6’6 Jordan Burch have raised some slight concerns, but Joel Klatt’s Confidence in the Ducks remains strong. However, Big 1o ain’t no joke, filled with teams like Ohio State Buckeyes, who The Ducks won by a margin in Week 7. The Ducks gotta stay sharp and sturdy.

Potential Week 7 Rematch in National Championship: The Ducks VS Buckeyes

What’s your perspective on:

Are the Oregon Ducks truly the best, or is Ohio State still the Big Ten's top dog?

Have an interesting take?

A potential rematch between Oregon and Ohio State? Now that’s something every intelligent college football fan wishes for. Oregon narrowly or could say barely bested Ohio State in Week 7 by a single point 32-31, may call it luck or fate. You can’t deny Ohio is “THAT” team. Joel Klatt then went on to paint the full picture. “I will just say this though: I do believe still that Ohio State is the best roster in the country. Because when you look at the entirety of the roster for Ohio State, outside of the one game against Oregon, their defense has been totally dominant.” Klatt said, sounding confident and excited. Thank god Colin Cowherd didn’t open his mouth and make a diabolical take.

Joe Klatt went on praising the more-than-balanced scary Ohio State offense and expecting a potential rematch in the National Championship.“Listen, I would love to see that rematch. Ohio State and Oregon… I think it would be a great game,” he added with a hint of hope and excitement while keeping his face straight.

And you can bet he’d pay premium money to watch these two teams clash again. The Ducks may have gotten the better of the Ohio State once. But a rematch would settle the debate: who truly runs the Big Ten.
