NFL Draft month is officially here, and the quarterback sweepstakes are heating up like never before. Everyone’s hunting for their guy, and one name has managed to push through all the noise and skepticism—Shedeur Sanders. For weeks, draft chatter around the former Colorado QB has teetered between doubt and curiosity. First, there was the buzz about his ‘arrogant’ and ‘brash’ demeanor in interviews and after skipping Combine workouts. That noise threatened to stall his rise. But guess what? It didn’t.

In fact, it might have done the opposite. Shedeur is now finally creeping into top-five conversations, with teams like the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns showing real interest. It seems like the league is beginning to see what analyst Joel Klatt’s been saying all along: Shedeur Sanders is the real deal.

Let’s be honest—doubts have never really left Shedeur’s side, even after he put up 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just 10 picks in his final college season. One week it’s his pocket presence and pressure handling. Next, it’s his attitude. Even sports host Colin Cowherd said, “He is probably closer to Jaxson Dart as a talent than Cam Ward. So, what’s the point? We will wait till the second round.” But Joel Klatt isn’t buying that take.

“I think Shedeur is an incredible player. I think he is and should be a top five or six pick in the draft,” Klatt said on The Herd. “What people fail to realize is that he was doing at the college level what he’s going to be asked to do at the NFL level… How many times do we evaluate quarterbacks that are playing with far superior teammates than their opposition?” Klatt’s point? Context matters. Sanders played behind one of the worst offensive lines in the country—sacked 42 times last year, 52 the year before. Still, he completed 74% of his passes. That’s absurd efficiency under fire.

“Part of the reason why it’s so difficult to evaluate college quarterbacks is because, generally speaking, they’re playing on really good teams, and their teammates are far better than the opposition,” Klatt added. “That’s not necessarily the case with Shedeur. He’s playing behind a really bad offensive line and took a team from one win to the top 25 with nine wins.” That’s not just a stat sheet glow-up—that’s leadership. That’s elevating an entire program. That’s NFL material.

With Klatt’s stamp of approval and the film to back it up, the question becomes: Where does Shedeur land?

Is Shedeur Sanders the next big thing in the NFL, or just another overhyped prospect?

Have an interesting take?

The New York Giants are buzzing. Despite adding veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, their front office has been quietly circling Sanders. Fueling the rumors, a recent video surfaced online where Shedeur is seen joking with a friend about landing spots. His friend teases, “Go anywhere but not the NFC East, man,” to which Sanders chuckles—but doesn’t rule it out. That could be a wink toward the Giants, who finished dead last in the NFC East after parting ways with Daniel Jones. Could they make a play for their QB of the future?

Then there’s the Dallas Cowboys—yeah, that Dallas. With Dak Prescott’s health always a question mark, is Jerry Jones bold enough to bring another Sanders into the house that Deion helped build? The family legacy, the stage, the flash—honestly, it fits. But there’s another team lurking with serious interest…

Kevin Stefanski’s bold admission on Shedeur Sanders

While Shedeur’s potential destinations have fans speculating, one NFL coach isn’t hiding how he feels. Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was very impressed after watching Shedeur at Colorado’s Pro Day. Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry both showed up in person, and let’s just say Stefanski didn’t walk away quietly.

“He’s an extremely talented football player,” Stefanski said. “I think he sees the game really, really well, has been raised the right way. I think they’ve done an outstanding job bringing him along in terms of understanding football.” And for those doubting his attitude? “He’s a very, very talented young man, but off the field is where I’m probably most impressed,” Stefanski added.

That’s quite a glowing review. Stefanski didn’t just praise the arm talent—he highlighted Shedeur’s maturity, leadership, and football IQ. The Browns are even planning a visit with him this week. That’s not window shopping. That’s real interest. Now, Cleveland has reportedly liked Cam Ward, but with Tennessee almost locked in on Ward at No. 1, the Browns could have Sanders fall right into their lap. The pieces are lining up. But here’s where it gets interesting…

Despite the hype, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is playing it cool. “It would be great if we could get ‘the quarterback,’ but we’re not going to force it,” Haslam said. “If the right person is there, we’re going to take him. If not, we’ll figure it out for a year or two until we get the right person.” Translation? If Shedeur’s there and checks every box—they’re taking him.

Cleveland already brought in Kenny Pickett and is still open to adding another vet, but make no mistake: if Shedeur continues to shine in private meetings, he could become the Browns’ future. They’re also meeting with Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, and edge rusher Abdul Carter, but Stefanski’s message couldn’t be clearer.

For a guy who’s been doubted at every turn—his attitude, his durability, even his decision to skip Combine workouts—Shedeur Sanders is climbing when it counts. And in a draft class where QB rankings shift weekly, Joel Klatt’s strong endorsement could be the voice teams need to hear.
