Can Kalen DeBoer really outshine Kirby Smart and prove he's the next big thing in college football?

The last time Georgia Bulldogs defeated Crimson Tide was in 2007. Ever since then, Kirby Smart got lost in the maze, unable to find the victory door. While college football fans have been split up into two groups, the discussion of who is gonna be the winner on September 28 has taken a slight turn. Instead, it’s a maze, more about their championship potential.

And how could such a hot topic do without Joel Klatt? The FOX Sports analyst came up with an interesting take. Meanwhile, another college football analyst dropped a bold prediction ahead of the Kalen DeBoer vs. Kirby Smart clash!

SEC implications overshadow Kalen DeBoer-Kirby Smart rivalry

While most of the CFB fans have fixated their focus on making September 28 all about HC rivalry, the new Alabama HC DeBoer vs. veteran Kirby Smart, there is a lot more to it. Thanks to analyst Klatt for coming up with the not-so-talked-about circumstances. He is more interested in their SEC eligibility than Saturday’s face-off. That’s where the discussion started, putting the face-off in the SEC light. And here Klatt came up with a bold claim, “I don’t know if they’re even in the top two in the SEC.” Buy why though?

“Because of Texas,” stated the analyst. Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns already defeated DeBoer in a 24-34 heroic feat last season. While they won’t be facing Texas this season, Smart and the Dawgs will have to face Arch Manning and Co. on October 18. And here came Klatt with his calculations, “So like the loser of this game is behind the eightball.” That’s going to be the end of the program in the SEC race because of the schedule. While there are a lot of calculations about the SEC hustle, analyst Josh Pate came up with a simple calculation.

How Josh Pate backs Kalen DeBer proving the odds wrong

Already numbers are doing rounds about who is going to ace the winner’s title on Saturday. Going by the Draft King’s analysis, the Bulldogs are favored by two points with the over/under set at 48.5 points. But is Pate satisfied with the prediction? Definitely, not. He seems to be Team DeBoer. Mind you, it’s not blind faith! Instead, he is all geared up with his facts.

Can Kalen DeBoer really outshine Kirby Smart and prove he's the next big thing in college football?

Have an interesting take?

On Josh Pate’s College Football Show, the analyst highlighted how DeBoer is going to steal the show, “I couldn’t shake out of my head from last year of DeBoer going up against [Dan] Lanning twice and beating him.” While he is yet to win the faith of the Alabama fans, not to forget how during the Pac-12 Championship it was DeBoer who grabbed victory leaving Oregon Ducks and HC Dan Lanning in the back seat.

So what’s the moral of Pate’s analysis? “Alabama to win the game outright.” While as per Klatt we are yet to figure out the Dawgs and Tide’s place in the SEC game, the Saturday match-up will hold value for the longest time. “Three or four months down the road I promise you and I’m as anti-playoff expansion as it gets but I promise you there’s meaning on this game.” As of now, Kalen DeBoer will have to protect his fortress from Kirby Smart.
