Will Florida ever catch a break from these relentless hurricanes, or is this the new normal?

Hurricane Milton has intensified to a Category 5 storm affecting the region around the Gulf of Mexico. This sudden shift in the weather has prompted millions of people living in Florida to scramble for safety. Even the National Hurricane Center said that the storm could bring an “extremely life-threatening situation.” The devastating news has deeply affected the entire nation, prompting even Jimmy Horn Jr. to express his heartfelt support for the people of Florida, whom he shares a strong bond with.

The Colorado Buffs star wide receiver took to Instagram to share a story with his heartfelt prayer for Florida amidst the hurricane, saying, “Prayin’ for my folks back at that crib, yall, please be safe.” Jimmy is also from Florida, which makes his deep empathy for his people even more evident. With sustained winds of 165 mph, the storm is headed for a potentially devastating crash along Florida’s storm-ravaged western coast. Areas that were already struggling after Helene’s destruction 12 days ago will be hit with more damage from the storm.

Talking about the severity of both hurricanes, the Big Bend coastal region in northwest Florida experienced the landfall of Hurricane Helene, where the storm surge was measured over 15 feet. And in that area, the population density is also quite low. However, around the west coast of Florida, Hurricane Milton is expected to result in the same storm intensity, but it could risk the lives of a large number of coastal communities residing in that area.

Well, the people in Florida have already faced a difficult time because of Hurricane Helene, and now this new threat is making their lives even harder. Hope they recover from his misfortune soon. For now, let’s see how this extreme weather calamity might affect the Colorado Buffs’ upcoming game against the Kansas Wildcats.

Have an interesting take?

Well, Hurricane Milton is not only affecting Florida but is also causing delays in some much-awaited CFB games. And the change in weather could also show in Colorado’s game against the Wildcats. As of now, the temperature of Folsom Field will be around 26 degrees Celsius, and the chances of rain are less, but there are still possibilities of rain and heavy tides affecting the game.

While Florida is expected to be significantly affected by the storm, both Florida State and Miami football have a bye week during Week 7. Florida football will be playing in Knoxville, Tennessee, against Tennessee, but USF and UCF have home games scheduled in Tampa and Orlando, respectively, which might be affected by the storm. According to reports, the storm has forced Florida’s head coach, Billy Napier, to cancel his media event. Hopefully, all teams will be safe during their games, while Jimmy Horn and his crew seem to be on track to play against Kansas State this weekend.
