Colorado Buffaloes WR Jimmy Horn Jr. has been the talk of the town. Why wouldn’t he? After all, the athlete posted a career-high record and had put up a heroic feat on August 29 against the North Dakota State. And now it’s time for him to bask in the love and attention that he has been receiving from his devoted fans.

That’s indeed a proud moment for the WR’s mother as she posted the special gesture on Instagram that her son shared later with a gratitude note. Everyone is trying to make Jr.’s ride as smooth as possible after his father has been incarcerated, for which Deion Sanders himself came with an emotional plea. 

Heartfelt gifts and hometown love for WR Jimmy Horn Jr.

If anyone other than Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter claimed the spotlight during the season opener it was none other than WR Jimmy Horn Jr. Against Tim Polasek’s tribe, he posted a career-high 198 receiving yards. Besides, he made seven catches and reeled in a 69-yard touchdown. As Jr. gifted the fans a magical night, they too had come up with some thoughtful gifts to boost Jr.’s spirits. The heartfelt gesture had been captured by Jr.’s mother Pasha Baker on her Instagram story. Receiving so much love, made the WR emotional and he shared a gratitude note, “Love ya god mama.”

The post shared by the proud mother is a collage with the mom-son duo’s picture on the top. The rest of the pictures were from the love he received from his hometown, Salford. His former Pop Warner teammate, Chandler Powers gifted Jr. custom cleats. The proud momma then gave credit to each of them from their hometown who had contributed to molding the WR into what he is today. Meanwhile, things have been a bit rough for Jr. lately. But nothing to worry about since he has Deion Sanders’ back. 

Deion Sanders steps up filling the fatherly role of Jimmy Horn Jr.

It definitely pains Jr.’s heart to not have his father rooting for him during his iconic feat. Jr.’s father, Jimmy Horn Sr. has reportedly been arrested on drug-related charges that stemmed from an incident back in November 2, 2021. Having played football himself during his days at Seminole High School, he had been sentenced for these charges which were finalized on August 14. 

So what Jr. would not be having his biggest supporter around? Buffs HC Deion Sanders is there to fill the vacuum. Always compassionate about his players, Coach Prime unleashed his fatherly side for his WR. To ensure that Jimmy Horn Jr. is not deprived of fatherly love during one of the most important chapters of his life, Deion took matters into his own hands. He then came up with an emotional plea, “For those that are truly involved your honor I just want to tell you candidly that I’m praying for Jimmy Horn senior who’s been incarcerated a multitude of years.” 

Deion Sanders is hopeful about Jimmy Horn Jr.’s reunion with his father as he has been left impressed by Jimmy Horn Sr.’s transformation. Coach Prime confidently stated, “I just want you to know I’ve talked to Jimmy Horn Sr and truly he has served a multitude of years. He has repented of what has transpired and he is truly a different man.” Until then, Jr. has his mom, his cheering squad, and Deion filling his father’s void.
