Picture this. You’re sitting on a couch, NFL Draft just weeks away, and boom! The Dallas Cowboys are back in the mix with high alert. At the center of it all? It’s none other than the 1,060-yard RB who’s got Jerry Jones watching him like a hawk.

So here’s the deal. Ohio State’s star, Quinshon Judkins, fresh off a national title victory, has been making rounds with NFL teams. But the visit that got everyone buzzing? His stop in Dallas. Yes! The guy even posted a picture with Jerry Jones himself after his visit. And that’s not nothing. Cowboys fans lit up the internet, wondering if Judkins might be the guy to fix their ground game. But there’s a twist…

Quinshon Judkins’ schedule is stacked with visits. Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz’s report on Instagram on April 4, “Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins has several upcoming visits, including the Texans, Broncos, Bengals, Giants, and Browns.” It also explored the statement of an NFL scout who described him as a “pretty complete player. Trusts his eyes, finishes every run, and catches passes with ease. The 4.48 should really help him. He’s not a guy who needs to come off the field much.” Yeah, Dallas got their look at him first, but they’re far from alone.

We already know Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are in the market for a running back once more. They went 7-10 in 2024 and racked up just 20.6 points per game. Besides, Rico Dowdle jumped ship to Carolina, marking Dallas’ second consecutive season losing their lead rusher in free agency. Even though they brought in Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, let’s be real: neither of them screams long-term solution. But the 21-year-old rising star? That’s a different story. Quinshon Judkins is built for the league.

Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson even teased a sneaky late-first-round scoop — maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers swoop in? That would sting! Athlon Sports’ Luke Easterling’s latest mock draft even has him going mid-second round to the Los Angeles Chargers. But if the Chargers want to lock him in, they might have to pull the trigger earlier than expected, maybe even with their No. 12 pick, which is a bit rich for an RB, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures! And let’s not forget, the 6’0, 221-pounder isn’t just stats on paper.

Is Quinshon Judkins Jerry Jones’ fix?

Quinshon Judkins is a can’t-miss prospect. He ran wild against Notre Dame in the playoffs — that 70-yard sprint was straight-up electric. He wrapped up the season with 194 carries for 1,060 yards, 14 TDs, and a rock-solid 5.5 YPC. And that wasn’t a one-off. He’s crossed that 1000-rushing mark for three straight seasons. In his 42 collegiate games, he rushed for 739 times for 3,785 yards and 54 TDs. Not just that, he also recorded 59 receptions for 442 yards and gave scores. Straight workhorse numbers!

Is Quinshon Judkins the missing piece for the Cowboys' ground game revival under Jerry Jones?

Have an interesting take?

Sure, Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty is still a fan favorite for the Cowboys faithful — the flashy pick. But what if both are on the board? Quinshon Judkins seems like the safer, stronger bet, considering his Buckeyes background in addition to his raw talent. But oh well, that’s a decision for Jerry Jones to make

Quinshon Judkins has his rounds, has stirred up the hype, and has proven he’s the real deal. But the clock’s ticking, and several teams are lurking. If the Cowboys want to plug in their run game immediately, they better not blink. Because once this rushing threat is off the board, there’s no getting him back.
