5 receptions, one incredible touchdown, and a total of 88 receiving yards. Jeremiah Smith is one very happy guy right now after lifting the Natty trophy. Speaking objectively, who could forget that 4th quarter, 56-yard incredible catch in the dying minutes? To seal the win for the Ohio State Buckeyes. It was a moment etched in history. A moment of sheer individual brilliance, a clutch exhibition. It was just breathtaking!!
Even before that, Smith began the proceedings for the Bucks after Riley Leonard led Notre Dame to a touchdown drive in their first possession of the game. Trailing 0-7, Will Howard-led Buckeyes offense responded how they know best. By putting points on the board. How did that happen? Well, amazingly, the Irish defense forgot to cover Jeremiah in the red zone and Howard found his wide open WR for a touchdown pass. It was like they were playing in their backyard. Those passes happened throughout the game as Smith finished with 88 yards and one touchdown. Well, moving on, it seems that the elated freshman is already having his last laugh. He isn’t exactly shy about expressing his emotions. So, what’s up with Jeremiah after the final?
Jeremiah Smith was instrumental in the Buckeyes’ national championship win against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Irish, who also played well, tried for a comeback after trailing by 31-23, which was put to bed by Smith’s dying minutes explosive catch. But, Smith didn’t stop his exhibits on the field. After the game, he posted on his X account with laughing emojis, replying to a Notre Dame Fan.

Incidentally, the account posted a Notre Dame squad’s photo and took a dig at Smith by bragging about the Irish’s defense by saying ‘no-fly zone’. Interestingly the post was posted on 19 Jan, a day before the championship final. That would definitely have tempted Smith to reply after the win. But that’s not it because this is not the first time he was seen replying to various other accounts and taking a dig at them. So, what did he say?

Well, he did reply to another account earlier, which was comparing him to Jermod McCoy, the Tennessee Vols‘ cornerback before their game. He sarcastically posted, “Yeah right“. To be fair, the comparison is not exactly logical, too as McCoy’s team failed to control Smith. The Buckeyes’ WR went for 103 yards and two touchdowns in a game the Ryan Day’s team won by 42-17.
