Where players’ individuality often steals the spotlight, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is shining a different kind of light. The Ole star signal-caller leads the nation with 384.9 yards per game of total offense and hits on an absurd 9.8 yards per play. Doesn’t believe in claiming all the glory himself. The 515 yards thrower against Arkansas is the main piece of the puzzle. But likes to call someone else the true “backbone” of the Rebels.
Wondering who’s this masked hero of Mississippi is? And to your surprise, it’s not just one rather a group. Jaxon Dart took to his Instagram story on 12 November to reveal these unsung bunch of heroes. Lauding the Rebels’ labor through week 11 of this CFB season. Like a proud mom shared a celebratory post by their school – his wide receiver crew. Dart. Giving a heartfelt nod to the hard work of his wideouts, whom he affectionately called “My Dawgs,” and added a love-struck emoji. Aww! Isn’t that cute from the Ole Miss QB1?

This season, the Ole Miss receiving corps has been electric, with four players each notching at least 500 yards by Week 11. And that’s what the gram post was about. Leading the way was Tre Harris III, just shy of the coveted 1,000-yard mark. Followed by Jordan Watkins, Cayden Lee, and Juice Wells, who’ve all been reliable targets for Dart. This isn’t just a stat line, it’s a display of their rich team chemistry. For QBs and Wideouts, yards are like cash and sign of wealth and opulence. Sure, the no. 10 ranked 8-2 Ole Miss will be opulent after thrashing the no. 2 ranked Bulldogs 28-10.
Unfortunately, Dart suffered a left ankle injury after the first throw against Georgia. He was sidelined briefly, as he limped back from the locker room, determined and ready to support his team. Even while dealing with pain, his commitment to his teammates was clear as they pushed through and slayed The Bulldogs in Mississippi.

This bunch do deserve all kinds of respect after that kind of effort. And their play caller wasn’t shy to give one. His shout-out isn’t just a friendly pat on the back. It’s an acknowledgment that he knows his success—and by extension, the team’s—is deeply connected to the work of his wideouts. This type of camaraderie fuels the kind of offense that opponents find tough to predict and even tougher to defend.

Any update on Jaxson Dart’s injury?
In the first quarter against the Dawgs, immediately after the play, Dart was jetted off to the locker room as he struggled to put weight on his left leg. But you must be thinking it’s all over right. Well, Lane Kiffin took the gamble. As Jaxson Dart was brought out again when the Rebels went for the third drive. This did not work out as planned as they pushed through and slayed The Bulldogs in Mississippi. While Ole Miss was gearing up for its second drive, backup quarterback Austin Simmons took center stage.

He was like a machine, completing five out of six passes for 64 yards on that drive. And it paid off, leading the Rebels straight into the end zone and tying the game at seven. Turns out he has a dang impressive arm, but it might be too early for even him to replace their QB1.
As a goalpost, tearing down celebration was evident after such a feat. Everyone at Ole Miss has plenty of concern surrounding the health of Dart. But only time will tell when he’ll be able to get back on the field 100% fit again. There’s no word from Ole Miss yet.
