Should Jaxson Dart speak up to defend Lola Sexton, or is his silence justified?

Dating a college football star isn’t a walk in the park. Breaking up with one? Even harder. Ask Lola Sexton. She used to be with Ole Miss Rebels QB Jaxson Dart, but they eventually called it quits. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop Dart’s fans from coming after her. While the QB remained tight-lipped after his disastrous loss against the Kentucky Wildcats on September 28, it was Sexton who became the easy target for the post-game frustration dump. The resentment is real. After all, Dart already came off as a tough choice in the NFL Draft, and on Saturday he just proved it to be right.

What’s the best policy to evade post-game attacks? Maintain silence. But obviously not at the cost of getting your ex-partner trolled. After the Rebels’ 17-20 defeat to the Wildcats, the Ole Miss QB has been in the hot seat. But instead of talking about the game, Dart resorted to spiritual quotes that read with Saturday’s date mentioned followed by “Dear God, If today I lose my hope, please remind me that Your plans are better than my dreams. Amen.” You may like it or not, it cleverly showed Dart’s way to shift the focus and gain sympathy.

The QB and Sexton had been in a long relationship but chose to part ways in August after Dart reportedly cheated on his girlfriend. Well, we all know how blind college football fans are to their favorite player. Dart’s case has been no exception. After Saturday’s game, the fans chose to unleash their fury on Sexton for breaking Dart’s morales after breaking up, so much so that he failed to give his best to the sport.

But she took it gladly and shared a few screenshots from her IG. One of the haters slid into her DM with brutal attacks, a part of which read, “How dare you ruin my kings perfect season.” The fan then went down to commenting on her looks as a reason behind Dart cheating on her. But Sexton knows how to deal with the haters and came up with a sweet caption, “this one’s a good one.” Meanwhile, it’s time for Dart’s fans to let go of their blindfolds.

Entering Week 5, Dart has been Lane Kiffin’s and Ole Miss’ pride, sitting at the top of the country in pass completion. He proudly boasted a 78% completion rate and went second, just behind Miami Hurricane’s Cam Ward when it came to passing yards. Plus as per ESPN, the Rebels QB tied for the third-most passing touchdowns.

But hardly did Dart realize that he got to enjoy the limelight only for a short stint. Surprisingly on Saturday, the QB was spotted struggling with the ball that’s not a common sight for the Rebels. As soon as he began to mismanage the game and face pressure from the Kentucky Wildcats, his Heisman odds started to drop.

Have an interesting take?

Even though if the numbers are taken into account- 261 yards, 66% completion rate and a touchdown it doesn’t look bad, the issue arose when Ole Miss QB went all unaware and got sacked four times. A few days back CBS Sporst came up with top SEC QB rankings where Jaxson Dart led the pack. Time for them to come up with a revamped list and the NFL scouts would definitely go with the new one.
