After signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, are the #NYGiants done at QB for 2025?” The biggest question that haunted us after the Super Bowl was over was if the Giants had figured out their plan for the 2025 conquest. At the core, NY needs a franchise quarterback. See, after releasing Daniel Jones, the only available options were Rodgers, Wilson or Winston. 3 veteran free agents who had the potential to switch the gears of the franchise. But then again, what about the draft? The Giants, despite holding the No. 3 overall pick, surprised everyone by signing Russell Wilson to a one-year deal and Jameis Winston to a two-year deal. All in all: $29M in a quarterback revamp strategy.

The question now is, where do you go from here? You popped 2 balloons for the veteran spot, and with Shedeur Sanders‘ dream looking quite far-fetched, who would be the Giants’ suitable QB pick from the 2025 draft? “Maybe that’s the situation where they come back in for the next pick… somebody that can help them right now.. to compliment the two veterans they signed… maybe they swoop back into first round and comeback for one of these quarterbacks like Jaxson Dart,” Daniel Jeremiah pointed out.

Coming straight from Mississippi, Dart makes a lot of sense for a team that already has 2 free agents locked in. See, going just off of the combine, Jaxson Dart was massive on the production. Rated at 80 with the 3rd Combine QB rank. However, it is the prospect grade that truly solves the Giants’ riddle.

6.17 – A good backup with the potential to develop into a starter. It looks like New York is playing by the book. Put Wilson and Winston on the gridiron while getting Dart ready for the heat. Perfect 3-year plan to hard launch a solid starting QB. Not bad.

In the end, you still have to remember that Dart has the arm talent and accuracy. It is his late-game decision-making that tanks his stocks. Take Ole Miss vs Florida. How the Rebels lost that game is still beyond us, but we did see one thing crystal clear: Dart struggling to meet ends and find his receivers despite them being wide open.

This could be a worthwhile gamble from the Giants, but what if a different NFL dynasty swoops in and snatches that bone away?

What’s your perspective on:

Did the Giants make a mistake signing Wilson and Winston instead of drafting a young QB at No. 3?

$6.9B franchise on the prowl?

The rumor mill is going to grind out a few hits before the actual drafts happen. However, one recurring story we have seen is the Jets x Dart fiasco. Every time you search Jaxson Dart on google, you will end up finding at least 5 articles with him and the Jets.

With the men in green failing to make their Zach Wilson plan work, their QB position has become a thing of concern. Who do you even have to play in it? Well, free agent Justin Fields could be the answer. Right? See, we think that the Jets wouldn’t even be in such a pickle if the Rodgers trade hadn’t gone through.

However, despite the problems, Dart could still solve it all. Fields is your temporary bandaid and Dart is the surgery they need for their franchise QB position. Much like the Giants plan – let the veteran handle first year while Dart slowly trains to be a starter.

Regardless of what happens, it still feels like Dart’s destiny is to go from backup to starter.
