Forget the score table! It’s the SEC Quarterback Rankings that have taken center stage when it comes to CFB hype. Heading into week 5, the rankings are here! And it’s time for Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss to throw a grand party. After all, their star QB Jaxson Dart grabbed the No.1 spot in the list of top-10 SEC QBs. Does that mean Eli Manning’s prophecy is about to come true? While the fans run to find the answer, Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, and Georgia QB Carson Beck are all set to gift fans with a high-stakes clash on the magical evening of September 28.

The Week 5 craze had reached its peak when CBS Sports decided to take the hype a notch higher by dropping the SEC QB rankings. Going by analyst Brad Crawford’s analysis, no one’s better than Kiffin’s weapon Dart. However, Crawford did not give him the prime spot just like that. Instead, he must have taken into consideration Dart’s historic start that brings him in the same light as the SEC’s top passers of yesteryear.

For the Utah native and third-year starter, it took only the first four games in the 2024 season to throw 1,554 yards. That’s crazy indeed! After all, he has broken the record by coming up with the most passing yards by an SEC QB in four games, that too in the past 20 years. With this, Dart even surpassed Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s gaudy numbers that he had put back in 2019 in his Heisman Trophy-winning season.

If the Ole Miss QB moves at such an alarming pace then it won’t take him much time to beat the 2x Super Bowl winner and New York Giants legend, Eli Manning. Having an eye for real talent, Dart has slipped into Manning’s list of favorites. During a press conference, the NFL legend once dropped a big claim, “I want (Dart) to break – he’s probably broken all my records – I want him to break all of them. I want him to go have a big year and go get that SEC Championship.” Amidst the Dart craze, we must not miss out on the two-star performers who are going to be in the limelight this weekend.

In Crawford’s list, the Alabama QB Milroe secured the No.3 spot while the Georgia QB Beck tied with Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers for the No.5 spot. While fans will have to be patient for a while to witness Dart’s magic on the gridiron against LSU, scheduled for October 12, they can have their best time this Saturday with a highly anticipated rivalry matchup of this season.

Well, more than the matchup being between No. 2 Georgia and No.4 Alabama, it’s the QB’s race to secure their NFL Draft future. Given that, none of them is going to leave space for the other to grab the limelight, it makes the game even more thrilling. Heading into the 2023 season, nobody really knew what to expect out of the full-time starter. But this season, Milroe did wonders by throwing 590 yards and eight touchdowns in three games. He is going to be better under Kalen DeBoer who is tagged as the “doctor-ordered” coach for him.

But when it comes to the Georgia QB, Beck is in a tricky spot now. In three games, he has thrown for 680 yards and seven touchdowns, showing flashes of brilliance. Time for Jalen Milroe and Carson Beck to be extra vigilant. After all, Jaxson Dart’s lurking in the shadows, ready to turn their draft dreams into horror!
