Good job done by the Penn State Nittany Lions fans! Your manifestation paid off well as James Franklin’s boys were able to unleash their fierce side, crushing the Maryland Terrapins to mere specks of dust. 44-7 is indeed a good win, isn’t it? But as goes by the universal norms, every situation comes with a share of good and bad. So Franklin’s boys will also have to taste both of them. The good news is that they are now sitting all steady, clinching the Big 10 championship berth. Wanna know what the bad news is? Well, it looks like the Nittany Lions’ resting time got curtailed. But losing out on their sleep for their big goal would not hurt them much, what say?

The Beaver Stadium was filled with the Penn State cheer on November 30, as Franklin’s army gave Mike Locksley’s squad a tough time. There has been no dull moment for the Nittany Lions, as they had 412 yards on offense that came with 25 first downs. Penn State QB Drew Allar was the star of the evening, as expected; he completed 17 of 26 passes for 171 yards and came with one touchdown and seven carries for 23 yards. His teammate, RB Nicholas Singleton, too, did his skills do all the talking, as he had 13 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns. And how could the HC not celebrate it? During his post-game conference, Franklin stated, “Our guys were able to find a way to win 11 times during the regular season. I’m proud of them.” But it was followed by a bittersweet surprise.

“I told them in the locker room good news and bad news,” the HC stated. Well, we don’t need any heads-up for the good news. But what about the bad news? Looks like it will take some more time until the Nittany Lions players can hit their beds for some sleep that they didn’t get over the past couple of days. Franklin shared, “Bad news is that we were supposed to have practice tomorrow. They were supposed to have the day off. We do not have the day off anymore.”

This is the least that Penn State players can do at the moment. Already running strong with 11 wins, Franklin and Co. now have a confirmed ticket to the Big 10 Championship and will be facing off against the Oregon Ducks on December 7. And we know how strong Dan Lanning has built his fortress, running strong with an undefeated 8-0 streak. Meanwhile, Locksley might be biting off his nails in regret now.

The James Franklin-Mike Locksley post-game drama revealed

Well, it was pretty much visible on his face as the Maryland HC made his feelings clear during his post-game encounter with Franklin. Even though it came off as a cordial handshake, there was something more about the gesture. Right after the game came to an end, leaving Penn State to go happy dancing, in the midfield, Locksley wrapped his arm around Franklin while whispering some words in his ears.

What’s your perspective on:

Is sacrificing rest worth it for the Nittany Lions' shot at Big 10 glory?

Have an interesting take?

As the Maryland HC looked upset, the police officers and players stepped in to find out what’s the hoopla all about. However, as soon as they stepped in, Locksley let Franklin go, and the Nittany Lions HC could only be heard saying, “If that’s what you think, then that’s fine.” Well, we get the frustration that the Terrapins HC might be going through. After all, Saturday’s game marked their fifth straight loss in this season.

During his post-game conference, James Franklin addressed the heated exchange with the rival HC, “Your ones are in the game, you were trying to score! We were trying to score… On top of that, you’re playing Cover 0—play Cover 2. So, I’m good with it.” Time for Franklin to tune out Mike Locksley’s biting remarks. Instead, channel his energy into cracking Dan Lanning’s playbook and flip the game against the Ducks.
