After starting for two years at the Crimson Tide, Jalen Milroe decided to hang his college boots to chase the NFL dream. One of the few players who featured under both Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer, Milroe is an interesting case study. At his best, he is a dream to have. When he’s having an off day, the offense may seem quite amateur to the fanbase. However, in this age of dual-threat QBs, Milroe’s stock will always have suitors.

When he was running havoc on the LSU Tigers in the 2024 season, people were seeing a bit of Lamar Jackson in DeBoer’s QB1. That’s not all. Against the Georgia Bulldogs, Milroe showed he had the long ball-throwing pinpoint dime for Ryan Williams to win the game in the dying minutes. Gone are the days when Cam Newton was an exception. Now, every QB uses his legs. However, for Milroe, ‘naysayers’ have always been there. It’s for that reason that he started wearing shoes that said, “Let the naysayers know.” Throughout his college career, he did let the naysayers know.

The bigger the stage, the bigger the size of the doubters. Ahead of his Combine day, Milroe has come up with a message. “I’m cool with being underrated. I’ve played in the hardest conference in the country, I’ve played against the No. 1 team in the country, the No. 1 defense in the country. So, if I lacked knowledge, I wouldn’t be able to win big games.”

Remind them, Jalen!! People can often mistake your silence for your lack of belief in yourself. It’s the right time to remind the naysayers. Milroe continued, “In 2023, my first year starting, I didn’t lose an SEC game. We just played a lot of different differences, a lot of things that were unraveled when it came to the game planning and a lot of things I pour into that people don’t see. It’s a grind; you know it’s a social norm”. The Alabama QB seems like is fed up with the negative media coverage regarding his draft prospects. However, he does have some good news in his hands right now.

The NFLrookiewatch Instagram handle wrote, “Jalen Milroe is reportedly expected to “test out of the gym” at the NFL Combine, similar to how Anthony Richardson did in 2023. Milroe has reportedly been wowing teams in his interviews, and several NFL scouts believe Milroe is the best “dual-threat” QB in this year’s class, which may cause him to go higher than originally intended.” One of the scouts also said something that has the potential to raise his stock to the roof.

The Instagram handle wrote about a major Scout’s opinion: “Milroe has the ability to move into the late first, early second round conversation with a strong throwing performance in Indy. The Alabama QB has some traits you just can’t coach”. Surely, Milroe has things that other QBs do not take, for example, his rushing prowess.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Jalen Milroe silence the doubters and become the next big dual-threat QB in the NFL?

Have an interesting take?

Jalen Milroe a target for the Las Vegas Raiders?

Although his passing was not too poor, he still had problems in that department. He finished the season with Alabama, gaining 2,844 yards at a 64.3% pass completion rate. Not the world, right? But here comes the catch: he had 726 yards in rushing and also executed 20 touchdowns more than his passing TDs, which stood at 16. Surely, his dual-threat nature and his ability to run through the defense and take those tackles will make him a major target for the NFL teams. The verdict?

Milroe had recently met with the Las Vegas Raiders at the Combine and spoke to their GM, Josh Spytek. The meeting was notable since the Raiders are particularly impressed by Milroe and Quinn Ewers’ performance and were reportedly willing to make a move for either of those QBs. Surely, Milroe will land somewhere in the draft in the second or third round. He still has a lot to offer but also needs to improve, which he can do over the years as he progresses in the NFL.
