Bulldogs thwart Gators! After losing QB1 DJ Lagway to an injury during the 2nd quarter on Saturday, Kirby Smart’s Georgia defeated rival Florida 34-20 with two late TDs within a minute of one another, preventing an upset attempt. Carson Beck, however, had yet another bad day, even though his teammates were able to secure the victory. Following such a performance pattern, it appears that a single factor that puts a stop to Georgia’s chances of winning a championship is now in jeopardy.
In a recent On3 video, J.D. Pickell disclosed one element that could eliminate Georgia’s chances of winning a championship. And Carson Beck, the quarterback for Georgia, is the contributing reason. After three interceptions during Saturday’s game, Carson Beck—particularly his ability to make decisions—became the primary problem for Georgia. “Maybe he [Carson Beck] feels the pressure of that. Maybe he is trying to do too much. Maybe this is the wrong thing to say out loud or talk about if you’re a Georgia fan. But I do think that overall now it’s no longer Carson Beck is within the system or Carson Beck is the supporting cast. Carson Beck is the reason why you win or lose football games right now. Make no mistake about it,” said Pickell.

Furthermore, he concurred that Georgia still has a shot because the team has talented players and head coach Kirby Smart has a lethal sense, stating, “Dylan Bell’s a great talent. Dominic Levitt, great talent. Trevor Etn, it’s gonna be a dog for you. Nate Frazier’s proven he’s gonna be a dog for you. Like, they got a lot of pieces here. But ultimately we are at the point now in Carson Beck’s story at Georgia, where they will go as he goes. And so it’s frustrating to see him have these poor decisions he’s made throughout different games.” So Pickell acknowledged that Georgia, the top-ranked SEC team, is a strong squad, but the coach needs to steer his quarterback in the proper direction.
Carson Beck has been struggling lately, throwing at least a couple of interceptions in each of the last three games. Even though he had some good moments against Florida, those costly turnovers really hurt the Bulldogs. Beck admitted he made some bad decisions, but can the issue be resolved?

Kirby Smart’s star quarterback needs improvement

Is Carson Beck the Achilles' heel in Georgia's quest for a national championship?
Have an interesting take?
It concerns that Kirby Smart’s QB, Beck, has recently been unable to handle the football. Eight picks have been thrown by the senior in his previous four games, two more than he has thrown in his entire college career. Among these were three interceptions during the victory over the Longhorns. But hold on, let me show you a different scenario.
Carson Beck can solve a Rubik’s cube in about 30 seconds. His younger sister pointed to this impressive skill as an example of his intelligence and problem-solving abilities, qualities that also made him a great quarterback. And Beck had previously proven himself to be dependable, capable of reading a defense, determining the optimal throwing position, and making the proper choice quickly.

However, it seems that Beck has to address his turnover problems this season. Because there is no room for error if Kirby Smart and co. wish to guarantee a spot in the championship. They must defeat programs such as Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others in the upcoming weeks. Let’s see if they can secure a national championship title this time at least. What are your thoughts?
