The two-way talent is squashing competition both on and off the field. Travis Hunter, along with the Colorado Buffaloes, are at the forefront of criticism all the time. While they’re usually calm and deaf to the constant scrutiny, Hunter had to hit back at Richard Sherman when he commented against his NFL future. Everyone knows that Travis excels at being both the WR and the DB and has talked about how he wants to continue being the two-way athlete when he goes to the NFL, which hasn’t been seen in recent times in the sport. In light of this, Sherman spoke harshly about Hunter’s future by claiming that he won’t be able to do both jobs in the NFL, to which Hunter replied and said, “Stop speaking on me and let me play football.” After such a tense environment, the two have seemingly settled their differences over a phone call, as per the Colorado prodigy himself.
On the 26th September episode of the ‘Well Off Media’ YouTube channel, Bucky asked Travis directly about his squashed beef with Sherman, and the WR had quite the humbling answer to give. Richard Sherman is the former cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks as well as the San Francisco 49ers, which happens to be Hunter’s favorite NFL team. Thus, the entire incident was just upsetting for Travis, who had to see one of his idols talk trash about him, but now they’ve made up with each other.
Travis was heard saying, “Yeah we talked on the phone. He didn’t mean for it to go out that way, that type of no-negative energy. He was telling me that he watched me a lot but you know, I grew up watching them. 49 was my favorite team, when I was growing up so, that was low key our rival, the Seahawks, him playing DB, I modded my game after them when I was younger. So yeah he was just telling me he apologizes, you know, I accept the apology. It just kind of hurt me because I look up to him, so that’s pretty much what it was.”
