Can Jimmy Horn Jr. overcome his father's incarceration to become Colorado's standout wide receiver?

While WR Travis Hunter brings in all the heat for the Buffs. After the NDSU game, you gotta give WR Jimmy Horn Jr. some respect, too. Deion Sanders has always had this uncanny talent of attracting some underrated players onto his team, and Horn is one of them. The guy managed to pull in 11 catches against the Bisons and also managed to accurately catch a 69-yard pass from Shedeur Sanders and turn it into a touchdown. The fall camp, before the games started, gave us a proper understanding of how Horn could be the next big thing coming out of Colorado. But what makes this guy tick? What keeps Jimmy Horn Jr. motivated to become the best?

Back on September 5th, Horn Jr. opened up regarding his relationship with his father, Jimmy Horn Sr, and if Horn Jr. was still in touch with him. “Yeah, I talked to him,” Horn mentioned. The WR’s father was incarcerated on different charges related to d–g issues that happened back in November 2021. This was a major blow to Horn because he probably never thought that he would have to see this day. However, there is always a silver lining. “It just felt good to talk to him you know that just pushes me even more,” Horn had mentioned. The entire incident with his father was the main anchor point that helped Horn push forward and become even better. We saw how amazing he did during the opener and it is for sure that he would grow even more as a player and as a person.

When Horn entered Week 1 of the games, his NIL valuation was standing at $212,000. This is quite solid. However, with the season opener out of the way, no one had thought that the valuation would surge massively. Currently, the WR is valued at $454,000. This is a massive 119% growth, and it is quite understandable why.

The dude rocked it when he hit the turf alongside Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. With 198 yards and 7 receptions under his belt, he is going to be Colorado’s next big player. Despite dealing with his father’s incarceration, Horn has managed to turn things around for himself. Pretty sure Buffs fans cannot wait to see what he achieves next against the Cornhuskers today.
