In their last game against Penn State, USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley’s worst nightmare came true. The team’s position in the game was impacted by a 30-33 loss to the Nittany Lions. Well, Riley’s got the post-game blues, big time! Apparently, there’s been a lot of pressure behind the scenes. Want the inside scoop?

Today on a recent episode of Fox Sports Radio insiders Martin Weiss and Veejay Huskey joined in to discuss Lincoln Riley’s disturbing behavior at a press conference after the game. Both of them had a straightforward approach to the whole incident and took a jab at him, saying, “I’m just waiting to see what viral moment will come out of this press conference, because, you know, after he [Lincoln Riley] loses, he does not react well to the media. Not at all, man.” Well, this was in the context of Riley’s blunt response to the media.

After the game, Riley and his team went for a press conference, where his frustration was quite visible. However, the Trojans HC made it very evident when a reporter asked him about whom to blame for his team’s loss, to which Riley gave a very sarcastic response and also mentioned the question as invalid, saying, “It always falls to me; I always take it. I’m the head coach. It’s all my job. Believe me, there is nobody taking more responsibility than I am, so I don’t know where that line of questioning comes from.” Well, suffering three back-to-back losses might be annoying, but that is actually on him.

Even after suffering a loss against Penn State, the Trojans did put up a pretty decent game last night. Lincoln Riley’s team was leading the halftime with a score of 20-6; however, they lost the game because of the pass interference penalties in overtime. But a loss is a loss, and don’t be surprised to know that someone already had a cryptic mindset about Riley’s coaching styles.

Paul Finebaum taking a shot at Lincoln Riley

The USC Trojans had a really upsetting game against Penn State. Even ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum couldn’t control himself from commenting on their misery. Today a clip was shared on the ESPN CFB YouTube channel of analyst Matt Barrier asking Paul Finebaum about his opinion on the Trojans 3 win, 3 loss record this season. Boy, if Paul had managed to answer that smoothly, he definitely wasn’t being his usual self. As always, when he heard the question, Finebaum couldn’t help but laugh. He found it pretty amusing how the team and their head coach, Lincoln Riley, wrapped up this season.

Adding fuel to the fire Paul said, “A hard time on Sportscenter the other day for that one more shot at Lincoln Riley, but I tried to prop the guy up after LSU, Matt, but I think you can tell where I’m going on him. I thought we’d grow out, is it?” Well, this was expected from him, as at the beginning of the season he called Riley overrated as a coach. But then Finebaum has to shut his opinion because the Trojans won against LSU in their season opener game. Now that the season is heating up, his words are really hitting home. It’s time for the Trojans to step up their game if they want to make the playoffs. Otherwise, it’ll just be a dream.
