Well, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs might still not be over the Playoff’s trauma. After all, they lost to the underdogs Notre Dame Fighting Irish. While Smart and Co. looked forward to a fresh start in 2025, fans are not yet over how in the past season, the Bulldogs lost all the glitz and glamor. That’s when the demands to fire Smart had shot up. But a college football analyst has something important to say while trying to save the HC from the heat, and here’s when a new QB picture comes to light.

After their big 23-10 Sugar Bowl loss, firing calls started to mount for his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Bobo. But he was not the only one to get side eyes. Smart too failed to gather fans’ love as the HC had a hard time with the offense. After all, it was Smart who took the risk of replacing Todd Monken with his close friend and veteran play-caller. Going by the 2024 trend, the Bulldogs struggled to run the ball. There was a time when they ranked 39th nationally in yards per rush and averaged 3.1 on 26 attempts against Alabama. Even though their QB Carson Beck tried to manage, he came up with three interceptions. That’s how the temperature of Smart’s seat increased. But the Locked on Bulldogs host pleads to be more “mature” while dealing with the current situation.

The analyst Clint Shamblin still sees a silver lining. He stated, “How Georgia is bad. It’s horrible. It’s all going downhill. Kirby’s lost control, we need to fire him… That’s what fans have said. I’m going use the quarterback situation to begin with.” Now that Carson Beck has packed his bags and left, the QB room calls for some discussion. And here comes some good news for the Bulldogs fam. “Insider On3 puts out a report that says Ryan Puglisi is far behind Gunner Stockton… in the quarterback competition.” Stockton is gaining ground after Beck’s departure. Buckle up, as Smart could save his seat with his QB weapon. What if fans get to know that Smart can gift them a better era than Beck with Stockton?

Yes. that’s what the future might have on hold for the Buckeyes. On the ESPN College Football podcast, Greg McElroy stated, “Well if you look at Gunner Stockton compared to what they had the last two years with Carson Beck, you have a little bit more mobility at the quarterback spot.” During his three appearances in 2024, Stockton completed 25-of-32 passing attempts (78.1%) for 206 yards and one interception. He now draws a comparison with Connor Shaw. So let’s not forget what Smart has offered to the program.

Is Kirby Smart keeping his promise?

Smart has built a dynasty. That’s what might have turned out to be costly for the HC. With two national championships in the past four years, they have set the standard in college football. Even though 2024 has been a ‘down year’ they were able to gift fans good times winning the SEC. It also did reap great views too. Going by the numbers, Smart’s squad led the nation in viewership, averaging 8.6 million viewers per game, which was way more than the National Championship winner.

The Buckeyes’ views were 1.8 million more than Ohio State. Not to miss out on their recruiting dominance, elite coaching staff, and the overall strength that runs through the program. “They’re right there at the top with Alabama over the past four years as being the top recruiter in the conference,” reminded Josh Pate. Smart then made a big promise after the big 26-23 defeat to Alabama.

The Georgia HC stated, “I’m very proud of this team and this university, and we’re not going anywhere.” As per the reports, Kirby Smart will host a coaches’ clinic in Athens on March 20, 21, and 22. The program will be led by two big names. Former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan and former Indianapolis Colts coach Shane Steichen. Here’s how the road to another championship has already begun in Athens.
