The national title is on one side, and the recruiting process is on the other. Everything in college football gets interesting week by week. Early signing days are around the corner, and buzz around five-star quarterback Julian Lewis is increasing. He committed to USC in 2023, but the big question is whether he is going to ditch them soon. In Boulder, Shedeur Sanders is all set to pass on his torch, and Coach Prime and the Buffs are eyeing Lewis as a replacement. Even Lewis is showing all the interest, and he is planning to visit Colorado University again despite his verbal commitment to the Trojans. Hold on! Only the Buffs and UCS are not the two teams fighting for him.
According to On3’s Hunter Shelton, he is being recruited by Indiana. This Saturday, the Hossiers are going to host the defending champions, and Lewis is going to lead a significant group of talented recruits and visit Indiana. Today, on the On3 Youtube channel, Steve Wilfong, Vice President of National College Football Recruiting and Transfer Portal, On3Recruits, revealed how Lewis’s visit to Indiana could be heartbreaking for Sanders and USC. He highlights that Lewis has visited Indiana multiple times and has established a good relationship with the coaching staff, particularly quarterbacks coach Tino Sunseri.
“Well, he’s been there twice, yeah, has a regular relationship with him. I don’t you know, with Julian Lewis, things have just seemed fluid behind the scenes with him, with some of the conversations that he and his families have with staff.” Before the quarterback verbally committed to USC, he had visited various schools apart from Colorado and Indiana, like Georgia and Auburn.

Many expected the Trojans to have a hard time replacing Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick, as their quarterback. But did you expect them to have a losing record by November? As Steve mentioned, Lewis is unpredictable; recently, he visited the Buffs on October 26 to meet Coach Prime and understand the culture at the university.
However, Steve also highlighted the challenges Indiana faces in attracting top-tier talent in a competitive landscape: “I don’t know if Indiana has all the resources to win a Julian Lewis recruitment, you know, so maybe they do, but maybe that’s why they’re showing up on campus. Maybe they don’t.”
Head coach Curt Cignetti is doing wonders in his first season at the Hoosiers. Did you expect 9-0? He has made history by leading the team to nine wins. However, the college football playoffs ranking issued on Tuesday was a bit disheartening; the #8 rank does not suit them; they deserved a better rank than Ohio State and Texas Longhorns. Moving on, they need to focus on the recruiting process as well. We know their numbers are speaking, but football programs like the Buffs have a huge fan following, and a mentor like Deion Sanders can turn the tables in no time.

Will Shedeur Sanders influence Julian Lewis’s commitment?
The Colorado Buffs have left the 2024 season behind, and the excitement surrounding them is unreal. At the same time, their recruiting efforts have been intense. Everyone is talking about Deion Sanders’s new approach. In the middle stands the five-star QB prospect Julian Lewis. His recruitment is quite a mystery. Before that, did you know that Shedeur Sanders had a great relationship with the rising star, and he was trying his best to pursue Lewis?
Sanders and Buffs have gone all out to impress Julian Lewis. The interesting part is that fans are noticing the close relationship between Shedeur and Lewis. Their recent photoshoot went viral where Lewis is sitting on the throne in a Buffs jersey with Shedeur beside him. Did you see the photos?
