The stage is set, and the hotshots in town are ready to make their NIL offers, but there is a problem… Let’s talk about the No.1 Running Back in the 2026 class. If you haven’t watched any Louisa County games yet, then you are missing out cause this Savion Hiter kid has been showing some massive skill. Standing at 5’11, he manages to snag the 100-meter mark in just 11.11 seconds – let that sink in. Now, if that wasn’t enough, covering Savion Hiter in the gridiron is a nightmare. We’ll reinstate what On3 dubbed his moves: “Cuts on a dime and makes defenders miss in space.” Hiter is fluid and smooth on the turf and swaps directions like Michael Dunlop conquering the curves and turns of the Isle Of Man TT. But, as we pointed out before, there is a problem.
When you are this good at something, then the top hitters will throw in a bid for your name on their roster. However, for Hiter, it looks like 1 of the 4 “top hitters” is winning the race. “He recently dropped four official visits. We got Ohio State May 30th, then we’re going off to Georgia, Michigan, followed up by Tennessee on June 20th. But Steve, the question I got for you is Savion Hiter all Michigan?” Josh Newberg points out. 4 major schools: Bucks, Dawgs, Vols, and UM. But it looks like Sherrone Moore and the Bluebloods have the upper hand. Even Steve Wiltfong confirms: “He is not all Michigan, but he is the Wolverines to lose as the process stands right now.”

Now imagine if Moore captures Hiter for his roster. Listen, if you are a Michigan fan right now, you are living goooood. Yes, 2024 was a disaster, but holy, you guys got a win over the Bucks and Alabama? That is something to write home about. Top that off with the 2025 No.1 QB flip to the UM squad and you have the perfect recipe for a redemption year.
Going into 2026 with such a heavy-hitting QB like Bryce Underwood would naturally mean you need the same level of talent in the running corp – Hiter solves exactly that. And we are already familiar with Michigan’s NIL game, so money will never be an issue.
If Ann Arbor’s BBQ can make Hiter come back, then we are pretty certain Moore’s recruitment squad can as well. Buuut, this is college football guys – it’s never fun without your competition trying out their shenanigans to steal your potential commitment.

Atlanta and Knoxville ain’t that far
“The Maize and Blue remain the program to beat going into the next wave of visits, but Georgia and Tennessee are right there…” Now what Steve points out here is interesting. While Michigan plans its romance with Hiter – it looks like Georgia and the Vols are also prepping their gifts.
Interestingly, Josh Heupel and his squad have the upper hand in this love triangle. Now we know UM and their NIL fund is nothing, something everyone can beat. However, Vols x Hiter has some sentimental value attached to it. Heupel and his squad have been around since Hiter’s freshman years.
With that said, Vols have always made their intentions crystal clear. “I mean, I’m a priority to them,” even Hiter agrees on it. So with time, we shall see who wins. Michigan and its NIL offer or Heupel and the sentimental value.
