Could Auburn's victory be the turning point in flipping Na’eem Offord from Ohio State?

Rumors have gone far enough for Ryan Day to brace for what could be coming. Ohio State celebrated its acquisition of one of the highest-rated commits in the 2025 class when 5-star CB Na’eem Offord committed in February. But several trips to a struggling 5-6 program indicate that the Buckeyes commit has other plans up his sleeves. Now the rumor is almost confirmed after the big Auburn vs Texas A&M clash.

Auburn HC Hugh Freeze not only won a big game on the field against Texas A&M on Saturday. Several big prospects were on campus for their stellar OT 43-41 win, including Na’eem Offord. And from what Steve Wiltfong reported in a new YouTube episode on On3 Recruits on November 26, Auburn is in a very good position to flip the commitment of this coveted prospect. He said, “Well, my On3 RPM finally reflects that. Logged the prediction in favor of Auburn this morning after talking to numerous sources regarding the recruitment talk to the Offord family, to the people that spent time with him on Saturday.”

This is the fourth time that Na’eem Offord visited Auburn, so the interest has always been there. But it is the wild performance against the Aggies inside Jordan-Hare Stadium in four overtimes that had his attention. Fans stormed the field to celebrate the upset victory, giving Offord a one-of-a-kind experience. Following the game, he said, “At Auburn, that was the wildest game I’ve been to. It was crazy, that was my first time rushing the field.”

According to Wiltfong’s prediction, Auburn currently has a 74.3% chance of flipping him from the Buckeyes. He said, “[Offord] sees the trajectory, the talent being recruited but the product on the field for them to finally get a big win after so many heartbreaking losses, I think those inches add up in the recruitment of Na’eem Offord.” It’ll be interesting to see what unfolds in the coming weeks but as of now, the Alabama native could be on his way to Auburn for good. After all, it’s not just one person’s prediction.

On3 reported on Sunday that Na’eem Offord’s decision between Ohio State, Oregon, and Auburn will be revealed on signing day. Following this update, Auburn 2026 LB commit JaMichael Garrett reposted the tweet with an interesting caption, “I’m pretty confident.” But there’s more fire that came from their 2025 5-star QB commit Deuce Knight, who joined Garrett saying, “Makes 2 of us.” What’s even more interesting is that Knight previously announced after his flip from Notre Dame, “I’m coming after Na’eem Offord, Andrew Babalola, Caleb Cunningham, Ousmane Kromah, & CJ Wiley. I’m not stopping till they slide to AU!

If Auburn flips Na’eem Offord, who’s the nation’s No. 1 CB, it would be a huge upgrade to their already successful recruitment class of 2025. Despite being at the bottom of the SEC, the Tigers still compiled an impressive recruiting lineup that ranks 5th nationally with 27 commits. With their last win, Auburn can still end the season on a good note if they manage to clinch bowl eligibility in their final game against Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
