Can Curt Cignetti's bold confidence lead Indiana Hoosiers to dominate the Big 10 this season?

Now that’s what you call confidence! The No.13 Indiana Hoosiers HC Curt Cignetti seems to be flying on cloud nine. Functioning high on energy, the HC’s spirits seem to have been injected into Indiana football which is number 1 in the Big 10. And what makes Cignetti flush away all the doubts about their edge over the Big 10 rivals? Has to be their strong “number” game. Not only in the scoreboard, but the HC also seems to have an upper hand in the NIL getting the third spot when it comes to turnarounds.

Now Cignetti is very particular about his team vibe as the HC joined the ESPN College Football podcast dropping some quick updates on how things have been going. He made sure to drop his remarks on the team and the standard, but he flexed with four words, “THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES”. No doubt about that Mr HC! The team has a big turnaround from the previous 3-9 season.“The standard can never be lowered regardless of the circumstances right so like all my eyes are on the prep you know what I mean we’ve done,” stated Cignetti.

All big games are lined up in the upcoming days, with a face-off against Sherrone Moore’s Michigan Wolverines on November 9, and Ohio State Buckeyes on November 23. “Like my all my eyes are on the prep you know what I mean we’ve done okay I mean hey look the numbers speak for themselves,” it was time for Cignetti to give a pat on his back. Indiana is currently 7-0, an unexpected start for the program. Before Cignetti had stepped in for the HC role, the Hoosiers had a combined record of 9-27 over the last three seasons. Now that is a whole new team this year, isn’t it?

So now you know that Indiana could finally taste what victory was! Last season Ryan Day’s squad took full advantage of Hoosiers crushing them to mere specks of dust 3-23. The loss against Michigan was more alarming, 52-7. Yes, you read that right, FIFTY TWO vs. only seven points. The boys lead by Cignetti is going to be looking for some vengeance in the coming weeks!

Curt Cignetti closes the 57-year gap with style

What’s your perspective on:

Can Curt Cignetti's bold confidence lead Indiana Hoosiers to dominate the Big 10 this season?

Have an interesting take?

After all, to propel the program to its best position for the first time since 1967, is no joke right? How easily Cignetti closed the 57-year gap! That’s where The Ruffino & Joe Show co-host dropped in to give a heads up about the present Hoosiers mentor. “I give Coach Cignetti a ton of props…I played against this band when I was at Uri, and this dude when he was at Elon and he was at JMU, kicked the sh-t out of us.” That’s how brilliant the coach has been juggling with two schools.

And it’s pretty evident in the Indiana camp as well. Thanks to Cignetti, the program got a boost getting promoted as the nation’s best portal turnaround this season. And how was it possible? Well, to everyone’s surprise, the HC signed 31 transfers, 48 newcomers in all to save the moribund spirits of the Hoosiers. With this, the 247Sports analyst Brandon Marcello could not wait to give kudos to the mastermind, “Among all the rebuilds, Indiana might be the most interesting as the talent swap was massive. Cignetti is going all-in on an immediate revamp for a program that was in need of a facelift after the last two years of the Allen era.” Now let’s check on the comparisons to get a better idea.

In the history of NIL, USC Trojans HC Lincoln Riley holds the top spot by going from 4-8 in 2021 to 12-2 in 2022 in his first year. He is followed by FSU coach Mike Norvell who showed massive progress from 5-7 in 2021 to a combined 23-4 in 2022-23 that came with an ACC title. Now it’s time for Curt Cignetti to use his numbers it as a scare-and-tear tactic to frighten the Big 10 foes.
