Imagine finding yourself in a situation where, despite putting in your utmost efforts, there are still doubts raised about the value of your hard work. The Indiana Hoosiers and their head coach, Curt Cignetti, can certainly empathize with this sentiment. Despite boasting an impressive nine-game winning streak this season, the team finds themselves in a challenging position, as analysts believe there is still more for them to demonstrate in terms of their gameplay.

On November 3rd’s episode of the David Pollack College Football show, analyst and former NFL player David Pollack shared his opinion on the Indiana Hoosiers and their positioning in the season, saying, “Brent will revolve around how well Indiana plays Ohio State because if they get destroyed by Ohio State then I think everybody’s going to go okay. This has more to do with their competition than anything else.” It looks like David is pointing out that Indiana is yet to beat a decent side, and if they lose against Ohio State, it will show that the team cannot fight a strong opponent.

Moving forward in the podcast, David also highlighted something very interesting regarding Indiana and their win against Nebraska, saying, “Nebraska is now looking worse and worse, so that win doesn’t look as good as it did several weeks ago when they took apart Nebraska. ” Well, Indiana has won against Nebraska with a high margin score of 56-7, but looking at Huskers’ condition in the game after their recent blowout against UCLA, the win doesn’t hold much of a value.

Well, the Indiana Hoosiers are yet to fight a Big 10 opponent, as Nebraska is not that valuable in the game, according to analyst David Pollack, because of their five-win and four-loss series in the season. Even then, we can’t ignore Indiana’s remarkable gameplay in the tournament and what Curt Cignetti did for the program.

Indiana’s changing picture under Curt Cignetti
Well, taking a program from 3 – 9 to 9-0 is not a joke. Indiana Hoosiers are living their best days under coach Curt Cignetti’s supervision. Even coach Cignetti knows what he has done for the Hoosiers. As he says, “I win; Google me.” That’s exactly what he has been doing with the program since the moment he took over. Not only did Curt Cignetti build the program from scratch but also made significant changes in the team. After taking over Indiana, Cignetti bought 31 key transfers this year, like quarterback Kurtis Rourke and cornerback D’Angelo Ponds, and knowing the impact they are making this season, you can understand why Indiana chose Cignetti as their torchbearer.
Moreover,Curt Cignetti’s coaching styles and techniques did wonders for the team, which is quite evident after their recent win of 47-10 against Michigan State. Even after such high-end performances this season, raising doubts about their caliber is not only delusional but also raises questions about Cignetti’s approach. Well, the Hoosiers will face Ohio State this month, and that will be the ultimate answer to all the doubts raised on the team.
