Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs are catching the attention of stars from other sports too! The man driving the #9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, Chase Elliott, has recently expressed his admiration for the college football team.
Elliott is sure a busy man with NASCAR’s playoffs just around the corner. But despite his hectic schedule, the NASCAR star was impressed by what he’s seen from Smart’s team. He simply says, “They look really good,” with all smiles.
It’s no surprise that a Georgia guy like Elliott loves the Bulldogs, given the standard they’ve set. Elliott describes them as “really solid” and points out that “they’ve never been just a bad program.” He even had a good laugh, mocking Pat McAfee’s funny way of saying it as ‘progrum,’ which clearly shows that he enjoys even the minute details of the sport.

Chase Elliott also applauds the Bulldogs for sticking with Kirby Smart over the years. He says, “One thing I’m really proud of is that they’ve never been a University to just rotate head coaches in there every single year because they didn’t win the national championship that year. Like I hate that.” It sounds like Elliott is being pretty candid about the state of CFB right now.
Well, to put it into perspective, both Smart’s Bulldogs and Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns are off to a strong 2-0 start this season, and they share a common trait: a long-term coach. While Alabama’s Crimson Tide are an exception, frequent coach changes have impacted several team’s success.

It looks like Elliott was spot on here. A lot of CFB experts too are now saying the same thing, predicting the Bulldogs as champions due to their consistency
Kirby Smart’s countdown to win
Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are the ‘Top Dawgs’ in college football. Despite some ups and downs over the years, they’ve proven to be among the best in the lot. Now, Smart has been with the team for 8 years, leading them to back-to-back titles and maintaining a solid performance even in the years they didn’t win. Last year, the team had a strong 13-1 season though they fell just short of the title.

Even On3’s expert JD Pickell highlights “the experience factor for Kirby Smart in national titles games” as a key influence this year. He also points out that “Carson Beck in big stages” and “the depth on the line of scrimmage” gives Georgia an edge.
Well, Beck is a big part of what makes them so consistent. He was the backup quarterback during the title-winning seasons and is now the starting QB for them. Last year, he managed to push the team with just one loss. And even this year, the Smart-Beck combo has started strong with a 2-0 record. While they’ve only faced Tennessee Tech and Clemson so far, they’re poised to make a strong case for the title as the season progresses.
