Just five weeks into the season, and NFL Draft expectations are already switching gears. Well, who doesn’t want to be a top pick for the NFL draft? Colorado Buffs Travis Hunter is already in the race to be a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, his recent claim may have sparked a rivalry with his fellow NFL top draft prospect, Shedeur Sanders. Let’s see what the fuss is all about.

Today, in the episode of Kickin It With Dee, dual-threat player Travis Hunter expressed his desire to be the top NFL draft pick for 2025, saying, “But you know, man, I want to be the first pick. I never dreamed of it until a couple of years ago, when I knew I had a chance to become the first pick. So that’s been my main goal—I just want to be the first pick. I don’t care where it’s at; just get me there, man.” Travis’s recent comment may not align him well with Shedeur Sanders, as he also has a desire to be a top pick and is even considered one.

Well, Buffs star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck were at the top of the prospects for next year’s NFL Draft charts. However, after Georgia’s loss against Alabama, ESPN NFL draft analyst Todd McShay highlighted Shedeur Sanders as the top NFL draft pick over Beck. “Just keep an eye on how hard Carson Beck’s receivers have to work for the football too often. His erratic ball placement continues to be an issue. From a scouting standpoint, it’s the biggest difference when comparing him to Shedeur Sanders.” Todd said.

Even Travis Hunter ranks as the no. 1 favorite for ESPN NFL draft expert Mel Kiper. While mentioning his top NFL draft contender, Mel mentioned Travis as his absolute pick, saying, “He has been No. 1 on my Big Board all season, and he’s not going anywhere. The hand-eye coordination, ball skills, and quickness are all outstanding. And the way he thinks about the game continues to catch my attention.”

Well, now it’s going to be interesting to see who turns out to be the No. 1 draft pick next year. This might create tension between the two players in the future. But for now, Shedeur is appreciating Travis Hunter’s exceptional performance in the ongoing season.

Well, even if the Colorado Buffs star dual threat, Travis Hunter’s recent passion to be a top NFL draft pick next might create a little friction between Shedeur Sanders and him. But Shedeur has always appreciated Travis Hunter for his gameplay.

In a recent episode of his 2Legendary podcast, Shedeur Sanders labeled Hunter as the best player in college football, saying, “I feel like Trav deserves it. He is the best player in college football. Not one of the best; he is the best player in college football,” Shedeur Sanders said in the context of Travis Hunter’s recent interception and hitting the Heisman Pose against the UCF Knights. And that he thinks Hunter deserves to win the prestigious honor of the Heisman Trophy.

Shedeur also added to it, saying that Travis always gets questioned for his two-way game abilities, but he doesn’t believe in any of that, saying, “I think a lot of people take for granted what he’s been able to do. A lot of people tell him what he can’t do. He has greatness in him, and each and every game he’s able to showcase it in different ways.”
