On November 19, the X account of Insider Texas announced and tweeted, “Texas will travel to Notre Dame in 2028 before hosting the Fighting Irish in 2029, the schools announced Tuesday.” Although the faceoff is in the future, the excitement is real. Fighting Irish is all set to host the Longhorns in September 2028.

The two teams played each other last time in 2016, when Texas overpowered Notre Dame and secured a thrilling 50-47 double overtime win. Going back in time, the programs have faced each other 12 times. Although Texas won the last game, Notre Dame leads the series with 9-3. Yes! The Fighting Irish have dominated the matchup and won back-to-back five games.
