Ohio State vs. Michigan State—who's your pick and why? Let's hear your bold predictions!

A 23-19 loss against the well-organized Boston College on Chestnut Hill this Saturday certainly didn’t come off as a feel-good moment for coach Jonathon Smith in his debut season with the team. The Spartans kept the game on the road in their grip for the first 50 minutes, showcasing immense potential amidst the severe weather conditions and the unfortunate absence of their two strongest pass-catchers. But a fiery touchdown pass by Thomas Castellanos 1:30 minutes before the time-off stole all the spotlight.

However, since fans aren’t so considerate to take the loss as a moral victory instead of considering a few odds, coach Smith has a bigger challenge to stage a comeback against one of the best in their leagues, Ohio State, in Spartan Stadium. The underdog can take it to their ego and smash the Buckeyes or can let their losing streak continue. It all depends on how Smith stacks their two big 10-game experiences against a neoteric Michigan who is yet to get their potential tested on the road.

Ohio State football is heading to Week 5 as a hot favorite against Michigan State. In their last big margin (49-14) victory over Marshal, they showed the nation what a marquee offensive line can look like. With Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon at the forefront, a packed-up squad put on their best so far. So, it’s quite obvious that until they fall asleep on the field in a hypothetical reality, stopping them would be no cakewalk for MSU’s burgeoning defense.

The game is going to trigger a lot of adrenaline rush for sure. If you can’t grab a ticket to be a witness to this Big 10 conference match-up, you can follow the live streaming at NBC’s Peacock from 7 p.m. ET on September 28th, provided that you’re already a subscriber to the NBS streaming service.

However, if you don’t have a subscription in case, you can still keep an ear out on the WJR-AM (760) IN Detroit awaiting an inquisitive outcome. Heck, you might already have a picture of the final scoreboard in your headspace. Thanks to the multiple betting odds that keep the Buckeyes in an acute high in their first-ever road game of the season.

However, no matter how nail-biting the fight might get, it will be a fair trade under the new stewardship of Michigan’s Jonathon Smith.

Jonathon Smith seems to be highly respectful of their high-stakes Week 5 opponent

Jonathon Smith is very well aware of where they stand at Saturday’s game. Dragging the team up to 3 consecutive weeks, Smith’s strategy hit a roadblock against Marshal on week 4. But that doesn’t mean they are not in the competition. A win in the first matchup against a ranked opponent after his lengthy career at Oregon State will bring a lot of eyeballs to Smith’s individual record book as well as do a big favor in the Spartans’ conference battle. But no matter how important a comeback is, the atmosphere of sportsmanship and the generous approach to the opponents’ struggle will be a constant in Smith’s vision.

”We have a bunch of respect for them.’ We’re excited about the opportunity on Saturday. We get 12 of them guaranteed. I want our approach to be pretty consistent. We respect everybody we play. Obviously, these guys demand some respect, so we’ll give them that with our work and preparation,” said Smith, the extraordinary coach with an extraordinary outlook.
