The No. 21 Oklahoma Sooners were going well in the season when they lost a 25-15 game to Tennessee last week. On the other hand, Hugh freeze-led Auburn Tigers are facing even more challenges to fit in. In their last game, the Tigers fell to the Arkansas Razorbacks 24-14. with that, the quarterback situation of either team is also not in its excellent form. After losing to Tennessee, the Sooners made a quarterback change, with freshman Michael Hawkins Jr. taking over for Jackson Arnold.

While Auburn quarterbacks are being trolled all over the place after they struggled in most of the games they played. To overcome that situation, head coach Hugh Freeze said, ”I’m looking forward to going back to work and getting prepared for a very difficult opponent in Oklahoma.” Oklahoma Sooners are all set to play against their conference opponent, Auburn Tigers, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Alabama.

Hugh Freeze disappointed by Auburn Tigers’ latest performance

In the game between the Oklahoma Sooners and Tennessee Volunteers, quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. completed 11 out of 18 passes for 132 yards and completed one touchdown pass. Added to that, Deion Burks made two rushing attempts and completed 18 yards along with four receptions for 32 yards. On top of that, Jacquie Pettaway caught three times for 79 yards.

Similarly, in the Auburn Tigers’ 21-14 defeat against their inferior opponents, Arkansas quarterback Payton Thore completed 13 out of 22 passes for 213 yards and connected for two touchdown passes. However, he gave away one interception as well. Jarquez Hunter had 12 rushing attempts and completed 67 yards. KeAndre Lambert-Smith managed five catches for 156 yards.

With that,  head coach Hugh Freeze was very disappointed by his boys. “I’m certainly not lessening Arkansas, but it was a game we felt like was winnable. And when you don’t come through and get that, it stinks. I understand it and get it and hate it.” Hugh, who had high hopes for his players in their last game blunder, came out as a shocker for him. He continues by saying, “I love the energy our kids played with, and I know they’ll come back and fight this week in a tough battle we have coming.’‘ although he seemed upset at first, he later boosted the confidence of his boys, showing faith in them.
