USC vs. Michigan—Who do you think will dominate the field this time around?

In college football, it’s insane how the dynamic of a game can change in a blink. During the preseason hype, USC’s September 21 game against the Wolverines looked like less talk-up. Very few Trojans fans have taken the shot very seriously to sustain USC’s Big Ten title dream unless and until Michigan delivered back-to-back flat showdowns at home. The consistent dropping in the Wolverines’ performance now made it too much of a prestige issue for their high-voltage opponent to risk losing. So, the Trojans will land on the field on Saturday with their typical must-win mindset, and hence, it’s safe to say that another staggering face-off will be on the line.

In the peak of an exhilarating season, the last thing that crazy football buffs would want is to miss out on a live telecast of a game. So, we are here for the eschew. The Big Ten opener for USC (for the first time in history) will get underway at 12:30 PT. If you still didn’t grab a ticket, you can catch it live on CBS and Paramount +.

The Wolverines head to the week 4 as an underdog. The blame goes to their struggling momentum since the start of the season. Despite managing to clinch a narrow victory against the Red Wolves, improving their record to 2-1 on September 14th, there are still plenty of hiccups to work on. Especially, a visibly meek passing game needs extra monitoring if they want to sustain against the Trojans, who are currently looking to enter the AP Poll top 10.

Will the USC Trojans be able to set foot into the top 10 of AP Poll rankings?

USC currently stands in No. 4  among the Big Ten, with No. 3 Ohio State, No. 8 Penn State, and No. 9 Oregon leading the fore row. It’s a decent place to be, especially for a team that had just a year of being a part of the Big Ten. Coming to this season specifically, the trajectory is quickly changing in a chaotic fashion every week. The USC Trojans traveled to the Tiger Stadium for their season opener and impressively defeated LSU. They followed that with a dominant 48-0 victory against Utah State Aggies. The feat led the team to end up at the No. 11 in the current AP Poll listing.

While that only means they are just getting on the bullseye gradually, veteran analyst Joel Klatt wants a faster build-out. During a recent podcast edition, Klatt kept Tennessee and USC in his personalised top-10 list and slammed the voters for their flawed verdict. However, irrespective of what Klatt had to say, Lincoln Riley would be wise to continue the upswing in the defense that was in huge flux last season. The credit for the improved defense line, however, goes to D’Anton Lynn’s recent recruitment, which worked as a game-changer to some extent.
